Something that gives a little-like a wood floor, tennis court, field track, gym mat. Of course if you're in a boxing gym you can jump rope within the ring..'I want to hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain

has anyone tried a "world trail?"live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.0

GreenTeaDisease wrote:all of this sounds great, but seriously, how do you guys manage to run after lifting? my legs just like buckle under, and I'm usually starving by that point. After lifting for an hour or so, not only do I not have the strength in my legs to run, but I'm just too tired/hungry.
An hour or so? Try breaking it down to two body parts 15-20 minute per (30-40 minutes total). Then run/cardio for 30 minutes..Of course it will be harder on the days you do lower body, but it sounds like you may be over doing it if your legs are 'buckling' under..'I want to hurry home to you

I have to do all my lower body parts in one work out (and same for upper) because I can only lift about 3 days a week on average- I have to run distance the other days. Plus, the point is to get tired, the more body parts you do, the harder it is to do the others. It takes me roughly 45 minutes I think, i'm not sure I never really time the entire workout altogether.0 -

that's not exactly true...ideally you should work out twice a day, but you should do one "full" work out and one smaller, cardio-based work out.0 -

I have been jumping rope for years now. I prefer it over running.
I used to box for a few years and I still stick with the boxing workout. I love it. I have been slacking the past month but I really love it.
The rope, heavy bag, speed bag, double end bag etc..Get em a Body Bag Yeeeeeaaaaa!

O lord. abysmal today for first day back...
ran about 1.25 miles
bike 10 minutes
light naut lifting (back)
(talking to self...)
You need to get your fat ass outta gear and get this going. Get this done jackass. If you don't you will blow it just like you did last year, the year before that, and the year before that. You were in top shape once a long time ago. Get it back. Your presumed athletic ability is long gone. Get it back before you die. You were once fast, strong, fit. Get it back. You owe it to your kids.I love to turn you on0 -
2 miles. I haven't run in over 2 weeks, and it was pretty cool. I listened to In the End about 3 time, and PJ's In my Tree among others. I just hope I don't get swept at the Cherry Blossom Run. Of course, we'll see when we get there. No matter what I'm having cake afterwards. If I'm really on the ball it would cake I bake

Well my training schedule is interrupted for a while. While trail running Sunday I suffered a Grade III sprain. I am wearing this gawdawful boot thing and can't run, swim or bike for a while. Once the swelling and pain subside I will be able to switch to a lace up brace and spin on the bike and pool run. But then after those activities I have to put the "Barge Boot" back on.
I am upset! I was in one of best running conditions and now that will be lost. Oh well, sh** happens. I had already paid my $50.00 for the upcoming trail race on Saturday too. That won't be happening. It is difficult to walk to the car now, much less run or walk 14 miles of single path. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0 -

Yeah, it's a pretty rough trail - singlepath, roots, rocks, hickory nuts, gum balls (from gum trees) etc. It was a pretty smooth section that I was running on when my ankle went over, however. It was just something little under the leaves. I have hurt this ankle before several times. It is weaker than it should be.
I usually don't wear a brace after my injuries heal because then the ankle won't strenthen on its own. However, I will probably be wearing some kind of brace for a while once I get back to running. It is a pretty serious sprain.
By the way, I am female. And what is funny in a strange kind of way is three weeks earlier - on the same trail - my husband sprained his ankle. However, his was not as bad as mine. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0 -

Yes, we are quite the romantics. We complement each other. He sprained his right. I sprained by left. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0
