What is the hockey atmosphere like in Dallas?
Are they getting alot of press?
Looking forward to a good series.
I'll take Brendan Morrow on my team any day.Good Canadian kid.
Too bad he won't go further.

    Wings in six.

Yes, they are. They weren't until they outsted Anaheim though. I guess because they were the 5 seed and not expected to do much. But they are the toast of the town right now. Probably because they are the only team to make it out of the 1st round in any sport around here in forever.

Everyone makes fun of hockey being in Texas but the Stars have a rabid fanbase and until the lockout had several seasons of consecutive sold-out games. It has taken a little while for the fans to come back since the lockout, but that is the case with everyone I think.

Brendan Morrow is a great captain. Best move they have made in years was taking that C from Modano and giving it to him. I love Modano, but he is not captain material.

I love the Stars, but with Turco's rancid history against the Wings and the fact that the Stars seem to lock up whenever someone in a red sweater enters the building, I'll say Wings in 6. Hope not though.

I'm sure he's laughing now, only cause I've won the last 2 years. That aside, Paul Maurice stands to inherit much of Don Cherry's wardrobe, and will take on the Head Coaching position should one ever open up in New Orleans.
I love to turn you on

Dallas is first and always a football town, but the Stars have a huge group of loyal fans. I have a group of friends that got together during the lockout to watch replays of old games on Versus.

This round will be all about the goalies. I'll say the Stars in however many games it takes.

    I think you mean GOALIE.
Turco will be peppered with shots from the Wings.
Osgood will just have to stop the 15-20 shots he
    will face.
When Turco was at Michigan he played well at JLA.
But his pro career has been at little different, 0-7-2
    at JLA.

    Go Wings.

trust me i will. i just hope that the Refs are not against hitting. let the game go. let's see if Crosby and Malkin can handle hits because from what i have seen so far they can't.

My "educated guess" is saying Wings vs Pens for the Cup after the Conference Finals. Having guessed that, you can probably expect a Stars vs Flyers Finals!

I do hate the Red Wings, but I'll be the 1st to say when they're clicking, they're very difficult (if not impossible) to beat. The puck control is beautiful to watch, and appreciate.

Well the Wings took care of business last night.
    Wings looked rusty,Stars looked tired.
I expect a better game out of Dallas on Sat.
Still the Red Wings are a tough team.
Even with Ott trying to stir up shit.
Playing goon Winchester did nothing for Dallas,
and Turco's streak is still in tact.
    Great save on Zetterberg though.
Boy this thread slows down once people's teams are eliminated.

    Go Wings.

Refs seemed to help the Wings a fair bit.
That said, I think the Wings would have won handily without their help.

    Well,maybe on the Holmstrom goal.
There were a few against the Wings(Lidstrom's) that were crap.
I wish they were more consistent.
Dallas had four chances but the Wings penalty kill was
    fantastic.

Holmstrom in the blue, the TSN folks kept referring to another one but never showed it.
How about the roughing call to give the Wings a 5 on 3? No way, Jose!

yeah that roughing call early in the game was weak... just McCreary trying to show that he was on the ice and was going to make a difference last night.
