Yeah..no Mule and it doesn't really make a difference.
Either the Wings are that great or Dallas is that bad.
Yeah, the Stars forgot what game they were playing last night. :(
But! It ain't over until it's over.
drivingrl: "Will I ever get to meet Gwen Stefani?"
kevinbeetle: "Yes. When her career washes up and her and Gavin move to Galveston, you will meet her at Hot Topic shopping for a Japanese cheerleader outfit.
It's over. And that's fine. It was a fun year. Much better than getting put out in the 1st round every year. Stars just do not match up well with the Wings. They are on a whole othere level.

And I must say, snaps to the Wings and their fans. Their fans are true to their team. I am more upset this morning with the "Stars fans" that were at the game last night than I am at the actual players.

No. The crowd's behavior was shameful. During the third period the crowd got so quiet that I could hear the Red Wings fans over our own. And then at some point the Stars fans started booing.
Simply shameful.

At least there weren't empty seats in Dallas. I guess Detroit draws better on the road than they do at home.

Dallas usually sells out no matter who is in town, but we draw HUGE numbers of Red Wings fans. Not sure why. Maybe it is a cheap trip for them, or there are an inordinate number of Detroit transplants that live here.
Stars are simply in over their heads after playing lights out against the defending champs and the 2nd seed (Anaheim and San Jose). So congrats on a great year, but we just don't have an answer for Detroit. And they way they are playing I don't think anyone does.

I think the Wings are just one of those teams like the Cubs or Yankees in baseball that has a huge number of fans anywhere they play. If they aren't filling the Joe but everywhere else they play, I don't think it's the fans from MI that are traveling to the games.
"Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." Mark Twain
As a Yankee fan, I will say...it's never over when you're up 3-0. I remember all the Boston fans up here were just depressed as hell. Similar situation. I know Detroit will win, and they are one of the fastest teams I've ever seen, but I'm just sayin.

No way anyone is going to beat the Wings 4 straight right now. I'm sure the odds on the Stars winning the series is probably something like 1000:1 in Vega$ right now. Too many weird bounces in hockey for a team as talented as Detroit to lose 4 in a row the way they're playing. Osgood doesn't even have to be great when he's only facing 15-20 shots a night.

The Wings only fired 21 shots at Turco last night.
Turco hasn't come up with the big game this series.
Also a few Dallas players were a little suspect last night.
Ribeiro seemed tired and Richards (although he scored) was spun around like a corkscrew by Zetterberg, and was late getting back on another goal.
"they don't give a shit Keith Moon is dead,
is that exactly what I thought I read?"
Also a few Dallas players were a little suspect last night.
Eh?
Admittedly, it makes me warm and fuzzy for a group of hardcore hockey fans to be talking about the Dallas Stars on an Internet forum like this. It's been years since our team has made this much of a rukus, and I'm enjoying every minute of this, whether the comments are for or against them.

You can only cheer lackluster effort for so long.
Sometimes the hometown boo is required to let your team know they are supposed to be playing hockey Nothing wrong with that.

Everything is wrong with that. You don't support your team to a point, you support them all the way. Otherwise, please leave the stadium.

Every team in the league has been booed by their own fans at some point.
And people wonder why the Flyers were being booed in their own building earlier in the year. You have to show the effort in order to get the support. That's all we (as fans) ask... give the effort and we'll be there with you win or lose.
Hell I think by booing you are showing more support by saying hey we care so get your act together and play the game the way it should be played.

I agree with supporting your team to the bitter end.....UNLESS you were a Hartford Whaler Fan and totally slapped in the face by the NHL. I'm a Habs fan now....
Some teams go through ups and downs, sometimes its not the players fault as much as some people like to blame them.

Well, being a Wings fan you get used to people talking about your team this late in the year.
Sign of a successful franchise.
I have been through some tough years with this team.
Late 70's and most of the 80's.
Bought season tickets in '85-'86.
Saw 3 Stanley Cups but had to give up the tickets in '05-06 bec.
it was just to darn expensive.
The Stars had their glory in '99 when Hull scored that illegal goal in o.t.haha.

Now that was a rule that was properly changed for the good of the game. Any other season and that goal isn't even questioned!
