  • Wings win in 6. boo-yah.

i love hockey playoffs and the finals (especially when the wings win it all), but at the same time i hate it. every game the wings play, i feel like i'm gonna have a heart attack. it's good that it's over, but at the same time it's sad to see another season come to an end.

I have to say that for how exciting that ending was it was still nothing compared to the ending of the NFL, MLB, or NBA seasons. it just lacked that feeling of a team just winning a championship.

If you'd switch allegiance to Detroit, or at least a playoff-bound team, you'd get more posts in.

looks like you're nightmare almost came true (refs deciding the outcome). Great series and congrats to the Wings. They're stacked for years other than in goal, so it could be interesting.

nice to see zetterburg win the conn smythe. i said 1/2 hour earlier to the wife that i thought he was the best player on the ice. although a case could have been made for many players.
I love to turn you on

I figured it would have been Zetterberg or Osgood either one is a fine choice although I would have liked to see Ozie get it.

Osgood did play well but Zetterberg was the obvious choice imo.

He led the playoffs in scoring, (27 points in 22 games) and on any given night was easily the best defensive forward (+16 rating, damn impressive for 22 games and also playoff leading). He even put 2 in shorthanded and had the game winner in the cup clinching game.

I love Osgood and his 1.55 GAA and .930% are damn impressive, but you have to consider Detroit's team defense that only allowed like 23 shots per game.

I'm usually always in the M&G section of the pit BUT, being from Michigan, I must say, GO WINGS!!!!! My buddy is the youunger brother of one of the Pitt players who did really well, so it was almost bittersweet but still...the cup is back home...where it belongs!

"Super puck control" and the 1 guy in, 4 guys back game of Detroit is horrible to watch. Give me 2 teams that "hate" each other in a series and I will give you entertaining hockey. The games that I have watched in these playoffs have all lacked emotion and they were pretty dull to watch. Remember, at the end of the day, nobody really gives a shit who wins the Cup. We want to see hockey that we can talk about for more than a minute. Everyone that I have talked to has said that these playoffs have been boring as hell.

LOL Detroit is among the leagues best forechecking teams, what makes them great is that every forward is also defensively responsible.

1 guy in and 4 guys back? Rediculous. Um, that is what you do when you want to hold a lead in the 3rd and win a championship. No team plays an entire game like that.

yea how is that? when was the last time Detroit had even a bad regular season or being in danger of missing the playoffs? And it seems every yr the bring out a new young player or two that becomes a superstar since the early 90's...it hasn't stopped!
Aah, fuck it, I’m just gonna go home, turn on the fuckin’ TV...

I never said that they weren't a great team. I said that they were boring to watch and they are VERY boring to watch.

Apparently games 5 & 6 were good games to watch (I gave up), but games 1 - 4 were brutally dull Red Wings hockey games.
