Our record is so nauseating that i cant even remember the correct record, but i know its really really bad.
    we have been dominated.

the quickest 3 goals the Senators have scored in their franchises history. ( 52 seconds )

and the quickest 3 NYR have given up since 1983.

    what the hell

i know its early on, but c'mon man.

get bobby granger out there or something.

Ottawa is 15-3-0 against the Rangers since the 2002-03 season. The Rangers play them four times in the first 36 games, almost similar to their season series with Buffalo last season.

Ottawa looks like a team on a mission (I'm not breaking any new ground here I know) but they look a lot like the Sabres did last season. The highlights of the game from a hockey standpoint were those six saves Gerber made during the 5-on-3.

    as good as that was,

it doesnt take away the frustration of not even showing up against ottawa, ( twice already )
and having been dominated so easily , for so damn long already.

read some of the practice reports from today and gomez was skating with jagr while drury was with prucha. of course they have quite a while between games until thursday so they're probably just tinkering. if anything perhaps gomez with jagr and drury with shanahan and straka.

wonder if any of the Rangers are smart enough to snag some tickets to the Springsteen Show @ MSG tonight.

I am attending, and trying to get up to The Play By Play for dinner/ drinks .

I'll be looking for any Ranger players.

wouldn't they be in atlanta by then. i'd imagine they'd leave after practice today and not tommorow morning.

Still Waiting For the Season to Start

UPDATE [1:30]: Dawes practiced with Jagr and Gomez, Pock with Rozsival as a possible prelude to the benching of Malik, and Scatchard in Hartford for five games -- thanks to Blueshirts Blog and Rangers Report for the update. Drury skated with Prucha and Callahan again, Betts with Shanahan and Straka -- looks like a go for those lines tomorrow against Atlanta, who just fired their coach.

October is wearing on and it seems as if the Rangers haven't started their season yet. And not just because they haven't started playing well, but because they have hardly been playing, with an abbreviated exhibition schedule and only five games in the two weeks since the official start of the regular season. Getting a four-day break at a time when they're still searching for the right chemistry may have been a godsend. Instead, the Rangers practiced with some strange combinations yesterday that don't appear likely to generate any chemical reactions, at least not when viewed from a distance.

The good news/bad news scenario for tomorrow's return to action in Atlanta is this: The good news is that the Rangers face the apparently woeful 0-6 Thrashers, which should make for easy pickings. The bad news is that the Rangers face the undoubtedly desperate 0-6 Thrashers, which should make for a dangerous trap if they take their opponent too lightly. And the way the Rangers have been playing, they should not be taking anyone too lightly. Marian Hossa is expected to return from his groin injury in time for this game, according to Rangers Report -- Marcel Hossa is expected to miss the game due to his groin injury.

Nigel Dawes is practicing with the Rangers today, according to Rangers Report, possibly as a prelude to replacing Hossa tomorrow night (the AHL.com lists him as having been recalled, with Dave Scatchard having been sent to Hartford on a pro try-out contract). In other news reports today, the elusive team chemistry is the subject in the Times, Post, and MSG.com. Thomas Pock's unhappiness is the subject in the Journal News and Newsday. The Daily News has an article on Marc Staal. And Prospect Park names the Rangers' prospect of the week.

still have 2 periods to bounce back.

2 or even 3 goals is not a surefire win nowadays.
