Stone Gossard is the fuckin' man...
As a guitar player for nearly ten years, I'm consistently amazed at that man's abilities. His playing is so friggin' dynamic. He knows his instrument...
AND he writes these songs that move along in such a way so that a lot happens in a short period, you know? A great example of this is the 1st song off Bayleaf. It takes you all over the place in about 4 minutes. Thin Air is another great example...
Yep, Mike gets the credit for showmanship and the "holy shit!"-ness of his playing, but Stone is every bit as good as Mike, just less flashy...
Definately my biggest guitar influence...

OMG I knooooow! That scruffiness is good times. And YES we are CHICKS  and YES we are actually all about the music but YES you better believe we can observe this shit and there ain't nothing wrong with that.Talk about an added bonus! The out of control talent totally makes some people smokin hot too. It's incredible how much power that can have over you in oh so many ways.
The dork is lookin FLY these days with that scrufo. What a pimp!
Agreed about the chants too! Trust me stonesgstring (awesome name btw), Meddledeal and I will be chantin it up for this mighty man. That lack of live love really gets on my nerves. We make it a mission to let the man now how much he is appreciated.

Yeah people always seem to moan if you appreciate a good looking guy and automatically think you only like the band because of it but it's just not true. I prefer to call him a geek rather than a dork, but either works
Woo go you! I shall be listening on the boots for the Stone chants now! When they come to Europe I shall partake in chanting too20/04/06 ~ 23/08/06 ~ 09/09/06

RIGHT ON!!I agree, just because we are females and we see a good looking guy, like Stone, we get cruxified. whatever man! I know the duckman is very talented, it is the looks that is an added bonus to it all;)
our 2003 campaign was ALL for STONE and we made sure he got A LOT of LOVE at every single show we attended. Hell, he got a lot of the love @ MSG..he was just grinning from ear to ear all night!!:)
And the Dallas boot, w/the Stone chant...oh I am VERY proud of that moment b/c I was there!!;)
We will be there w/our Stoney signs...I am going to make a NO WAY sign so they can play that freakin' song!! Stone needs love too!!:Dø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~ø~

Stone is a rediculously talented musician and performer. You can always recognize a Stone riff even before you've looked at the song writing credits because it's always unique and interesting. But does anyone else get the feeling if he wasn't a musician he would be a computer programmer or something?Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?0 -

I still loved the record label Stone started in the mid 90's... Loosegroove Records.
Devilhead, Critters Buggin, Hi-Fi Killers, Weapon of Choice, Procreations, Queens of the Stone Age, Amon Tobin and Eurka Farm.
Now that was a record label!"It's the American Dream I am disbelieving... When the gas in my tank feels like money in the bank... I’m gonna blow it all this time, take me one last ride..." - Gone (vedder)0
