Good point.
I have become more of a social liberal as I have gotten older, but I have also gotten more agressive in building up some wealth. Everyone changes, but obviously, rebels in the public spotlight are put under the microscope.0 -
Wow. Thanks SOLAT. NIce to know that there are some folks here who are understanding and willing to listen. Thanks...as far as gas prices...it's ridiculous! Unfortunately my car onl takes premium so 4.55 represents that price...0

No problem. In 2003, I bought a bunch of the East Coast shows I went to and traded a lot with a fan from Texas who bought a lot of shows from that region. The cool thing is we finally met at Lolla last year and we're still friends to this day.

People complain because we've been fans of this band for years and years and they have officially given into a useless corporation deal. You can justify it all you want. The band should have a fucking backbone, man! You know the title of this thread...that came from one of THEIR songs ya know...
The old bootleg CD was great when it first came to be in 2000 cause it was all their own idea, spreading their music out to their fans. And they kept the prices low.

Uhh yeah I know...
And name me another band that is releasing live concert songs via cell phone??? So I guess this is the band's idea as well, plus one of the 3 songs EVERY night is FREE. As for prices being low, they still are for the digital download as well as the CD.
So I don't see where its a bad business deal at all....This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

HopeLine®
Fans will have the opportunity to donate their old wireless phones at each stop of the tour by simply bringing no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories with them and dropping them in the HopeLine® donation area at each venue.
The first 50 people making a donation to HopeLine will receive a special Pearl Jam VIP gift bag. All Verizon Wireless customers making donations at each concert venue will receive a free Pearl Jam ringtone and ringback tone for bringing their old phones and accessories to the show.
The HopeLine® program puts the nation’s most reliable wireless network to work in communities by turning unused wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence.0 -

In my opinion, there's only one bad thing with this whole deal - I didn't change my provider to Verizon last year like I was going to.
First Verizon gets Lost and now PJ. They're making a really compelling argument to switch providers.- Busted down the pretext

But still no one has really explained how signing up with Verizon is any different then signing up with a major label like they did when they first formed? If the Verizon thing is a "usless corporation deal" why isn't their former contract with Epic/Sony (Sony is a massive corporation) also considered a "usless corporation deal". And it is not like Pearl Jam was every some underground indie garage band. Their first album was Ten (not their major label debut, their actual first album).0 -

I'm not surprized you missed the point. All you focus on is gasoline.
The point being... 17 dollars today is not the same as 17 dollars 16 years ago. Or... 17 dollars in 2008 does not go as far as 17 dollars did in 1992.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
