and i agree with the original poster that its bullshit, but i'm starting to get used to the "new" pearl jam. still love em!

That's fine the point still stands though since Ed joined a band that were singed to a record label of a major corporation back in the early 90's and that is really no different then signing up with a major cell phone corporation in 2008. Obviously his hatred of major corporations back then wasn't enough to stop him from joining the band. Hell the company they signed with back 1990, Sony, even makes cell phones.

$16.99 CD version plus more expensive ticket prices=finally selling out. I know the band will continue dong it no matter what i say so before you say, well then don't go to the concernt and don't buy the bootlegs, don't worry. I don't plan on doing either. Maybe now they can all go buy another home in the hills or on the beach or whatever...good for them. They certainly arent the band I knew from the mid 90's. I mean hooking up with Verizon??? I am actually shocked...thumbs down..way down

right, because prices should stay the same as they were 15 years ago?? i mean, people are spending $80 to fill their gas tanks, but pearl jam should continue charging the same prices they did in 1992? come on.
  • yeah offering a free song of each show on your phone makes this band a corporation dick sucking band :-\

$16.99 for a bootleg with blah artwork. Come on? Since the band is producing these they will prolly make $15 on each cd. This isn't a studio cd...its a bootleg! Too expensive

Then don't get it. I'm sure they don't care. Or get the download. Last tour people whined because there was not a CD option. This time there is. What gives?

I dont plan on getting it. I mean, how many versions of Even Flow do you really need to have? I am just expressing my opinion, like the person who started this thread. Last time i checked, this was a discussion board.

Dude, were you complaining in 2003 when the cd bootlegs were $13.00?

Or in 2000 when Tower Records or wherever you bought the boots from that tour were charging about 15 bucks a bootleg?

The price is pretty good considering things are a lot more expensive than a couple years ago and the Who bootleg from the show I went to last tour cost $27.50.

There are bigger things in the world to complain about.

The problem is that you're supposed to rail against the evil corporations and not buy into the media's prepackaged ideals. And they still won't let me record, or trade, or post links to Ed's solo tour but they'll gladly sell out to Verizon and anyone else who waves dollar bills in front of their faces...... ;)

We're supposed to only listen to real "organic" homemade bootlegs (ie shitty) and trade them for other boots or linens or food that we can produce and cultivate locally and only between true Peal Jam fans...

I guess I just need to get over it. Maybe I am just too stuck in my ways remembering when the fan club was next to nothing and I received FREE tickets to see Pearl Jam play with Nirvana at that MTV New Years Party (unfort PJ cancelled).

17 bucks? Have you seen how much gasoline costs, today? Have you gone out for a burger for lunch lately? 17 bucks today is 4 gallons of gasoline... or lunch for 2 at the Baja Fresh... in other words... nothing to cry about.
You need to wake up and realize... it's not 1994 anymore.

I just want to acknowledge that 1992 Ed would probably punch 2008 Ed in the throat for allowing this Verizon deal to happen.

Of course I'm happy and grateful to get the boots, but that's a source of revenue for the band as well as a service to the fans. I don't know who pushed this Verizon bullshit on them, or if it was a condition for putting out all the boots. I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting and this is just another example of the band being willing to "play the game" in the last couple years. I guess I just miss the days when there was at least one band that resented being used to make money for corporate blowhards who probably think John McCain is too liberal. Can we leave this Verizon shit to fucking Fall Out Boy or whatever awful shit teenagers are using to impress girls these days?

Oh, and one more thing: Verizon's reception blows. I have one bar like all the time.

$4 GAS? How about $4.55 here in Seattle. Thats nothing to cry about? Hmm..maybe I am not lucky enough to have whatever job you have bc thats a BIG deal. I haven't bought an album for 10years anyways so once again, sorry for expressing my opinion on this issue. GO PEARL JAM!

Wow, gas is more expensive in Seattle than it is in Maui? That makes no sense at all.

If it really is that expensive, just wait two months or so after the tour when the cds aren't onsale and trade for them. There are always people willing to burn cds for other fans.
