Apparently the long term forcast is in saying 60% chance of rain for the night race.
Vettel raced well but it was obvious that the pace car gave him the edge. nevertheless it should take nothing away from his race as he made almost zero mistakes.
I heard that about Kimi too but it sounds more like just saving face. He knows and they know that he's done for this year. Shaddup and do your job.0 -

Because it was a bit easier under the pace car from a starting point of view. I think he said that himself, but yeah he really did drive his heart out, made no mistakes. Top stuff.

good race
the safety car start definitely took some of the excitement out of the race
but it did make some sense-id guess a number of cars wouldve been out of the race by the first two corners
The SC start did help Vettel, but he did race very well-no easy task keeping that pace on the track for the entire race, especially after the switch to intermediate tires.

Yeah I was thinking about that, but another interesting note to take, Kubica seems to be having some issues with BMW, he said that he feels like they are helping Nick more (because he's german?)
I'm sure BMW does not want to lose Kubica, I mean he's a good driver.0 -

Max Mosley has defended his shock news that he favours a common engine era for Formula One.
The FIA president told the French sports daily L'Equipe this week that the move, also alongside standard suspensions and gearboxes, would put a lid on costs and also make teams' research more road-relevant.
"F1 should not lose its status for technological excellence," he agrees, "but it has to be investing in useful technologies."
"I know there are those who say it is not the right move, but I am talking about the real world.
"If Volkswagen can buy an engine (for a road car) less expensively (than to build one), they will undoubtedly do that. After they put the VW badge on it, it's all the same. This is a reasonable way to view the business. Unless we think very seriously about cutting costs, in the next ten years we will be in trouble," Mosley said.0 -

MADRID (AFP) - Fernando Alonso will stay at Renault for the 2009 season after the former double champion rejected an offer to move to BMW Sauber, local media reported here Friday.

McLaren’s Hamilton Spa appeal ruled inadmissible
The FIA’s International Court of Appeal has thrown out McLaren’s case against Lewis Hamilton’s recent Belgian Grand Prix penalty on the grounds that their appeal was inadmissible.
Hamilton had 25 seconds added to his Spa race time for gaining an advantage by cutting a chicane whilst fighting Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen for the lead. This was given in place of a drive-through penalty, as the incident occurred late in the race, and drive-throughs are not susceptible to appeal under the International Sporting Code.
McLaren had appealed the stewards' decision, which saw Hamilton drop from first to third in the Belgian results, on the grounds that their driver had relinquished the lead back to Raikkonen immediately following the incident in order to negate any advantage. They also cited the fact that on two occasions race control had told the team that Hamilton’s conduct appeared to be within the rules.
However, the Court rejected McLaren’s right to appeal, citing Paragraph 5 of Article 152 of the International Sporting Code, which states: “Penalties of driving through or stopping in pit lanes together with certain penalties specified in FIA Championship regulations where this is expressly stated, are not susceptible to appeal.”
The Court's decision means Hamilton’s championship lead remains at just a single point over Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, who inherited the victory at Spa.
The International Court of Appeal's decision in full:
At the Grand Prix of Belgium, run on 7 September 2008, and counting towards the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship, the Stewards of the meeting imposed a drive-through penalty upon the driver of car No. 22, Lewis Hamilton, for a breach of Article 30.3 (a) of the 2008 FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations and Appendix L, Chapter 4, Article 2 (g) of the International Sporting Code.
As the drive-through penalty was imposed at the end of the race, 25 seconds were added to the driver’s elapsed race time in accordance with Article 16.3 of the FIA 2008 Formula One Sporting Regulations.
Article 152 of the International Sporting Code states that drive-through penalties are “not susceptible to appeal”.
The competitor Vodafone McLaren Mercedes appealed the Steward’s decision before the International Court of Appeal in a hearing in Paris on September 22nd.
Having heard the explanations of the parties the Court has concluded that the appeal is inadmissible.

5 guys
$350 a man for the weekend
it was perfect and was right in old montreal off rue st. paul
better than hotel rooms because we could all hang out in the living room
fridge and kitchen didnt hurt either-very nice
race tickets are booked, but now we need to find a decent lodging alternative0 -

No rain in practice. Massa,Hamiton,Kubica and Alonso were all pretty fast.

The track lighting was very bright, may as well have it in the daytime
Going to have a lemans feel.
Ferrari-McLaren fast practice 1, I was surprised to see Alonso show up in Practice 2.0 -

from what I understand, they have two backup generators ready in case of any failures
