Pavano pitches today and doesn't get hurt or in a car accident on the way home from the game. I call it a success.

1 earned run, but hey at least he took the mound.

hopefully, mussina is happy with that.

Yeah, maybe Moose can straighten him out through tough love. Knock some sense into him. Just don't knock him too hard. He might hurt something.

    lol

You know if Pavano could come around and be decent that would really help the staff. I would not mind if Hughes spent most of this year in the minors maybe coming up for a spot start or two late in the year.

  • andy pettitte just had a broken bat deflect off his pitching hand.

that's about the last thing we need.

it looks like he's ok though. he finished the inning.

the game is on YES right now.

    Yanks Win!

The bats were there as usual. Unfortunately it sounds like the E's were too. A-Rod, Jeter, and Phelps from what I heard listening to WFAN on line at work. Saw the last couple of innings when I got home. Nice to see A-Rod with the HR and the curtain call after the shaky start. If he can keep his head on straight, he should have a monster year.
How bad was Pavano? I only saw Farnsworth and Mo close the door.

Shilling and the Sox get pounded. What a great day. Opening day should be a national holiday.

i would say the best part of the game today was seeing and hearing bobby murcer back in the booth- lets hope hes back soon and feeling better.

Damon had to leave because of cramps, letys hope these guys jusat need to get the rust out.

I was at the game! My Dad and I went down to the stadium and snagged last minute tix that got released, in the main reserve section behind home plate! SWEET! We had a great time. It was a little chilly though.

Pavano was mediocre, but he had a shaky defense behind him... A-Rod, Jeter and Phelps had errors.

DJ was his usual clutch stellar self, and Giambi's RBI hit was a rocket. The offense looks impressive, let's see how Andy and Moose and the pitching staff hold up.

They gave Bobby Murcer a well deserved standing ovation when they showed his picture on the diamond vision, it was awesome and very good to see him out there.

And YES, Schilling is losing too! Double Sweet! This is a good day :)

OMG, thank you! I was wondering what they were saying! I missed it! I think I went to too many rock concerts, my hearing is not what it used to be!

    That is a classic!

I was glad to hear Murcer was there.
I was wondering why Melky came in for Damon. Caught some of the radio broadcast on XM on the way home and heard them mention someone grabbing their leg after going back to the wall to watch a HR sail out. Guess they were talking about Damon. Had forgotten about it until reading your post.

Did he really?! That's so cool! He is a class act! Maybe they can work something out, for him to come back later in the season?!
