sweet looking game !
speed and youth !
how about it ?
as far as Rozsivals meniscus, very fortunate it was most likely the medial and not the lateral - only 2 weeks tells us it was the lesser significant as far as injuries.
whats more of a concern is if Jagr is going to make it back , and if they are telling us all the details concerning his bum shoulder . We all know they hold certain info back to protect the player. that game was very enjoyable.
Joe Micheletti is no JD- we all know that - but he did pretty damn good . It will take some time for the chemistry between him and Sam to build up- but all in all he did a decent job .
Shanny looks awful good in the Red , White, and Blue, doesnt he ?

Rangers shorthanded for P.R. trip
BY JOHN DELLAPINA
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER
The Rangers head to Puerto Rico today for the apparent purpose of introducing ice hockey to the island with a three-day visit culminating in a Saturday night preseason game against the Florida Panthers.
They will do so without their signature star, their No. 1 goaltender, their only player of Caribbean heritage and a key defenseman.
Jaromir Jagr will remain in Westchester to continue the two-a-day skating sessions and grueling off-ice regimen geared toward getting his surgically repaired shoulder as strong as possible for Opening Night Oct.5.
Henrik Lundqvist, who backstopped the Rangers to a 2-0 preseason victory over the Devils last night at the Garden, will stay behind as well to work with goaltending coach Benoit Allaire and fine-tune his game. Veteran Kevin Weekes, whose parents hail from Barbados, would have been part of the traveling party, but he aggravated a groin strain yesterday, putting his availability for the season opener against Washington in doubt.
And Michal Rozsival, the defenseman who had a breakout season (league-leading plus-35) last year, underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery yesterday, making his readiness for Opening Night questionable. Rozsival had torn cartilage repaired by team orthopedists Andrew Feldman and Tony Maddalo at St. Vincent's Hospital and is expected to be out two weeks.
If Weekes - who was plagued by groin problems early last season - can't play for awhile, Al Montoya - whose surgically repaired shoulder is up to the task of playing the entire game in San Juan, team doctors say - must be ready to serve as Lundqvist's backup.
As for Jagr, although he has reported no setbacks in his recovery from surgery in May to repair a separated shoulder, the Rangers are being extremely cautious. He was kept out of all training-camp scrimmages to avoid body contact and might not play in any preseason games. But he has been doubling back to the MSG Training Center many evenings to get in a second, punishing skate after morning practices and weight sessions.
"He's got a training program going on here where he can inflict a lot of pain on himself," Rangers coach Tom Renney said. "We don't want to interrupt that."
Lundqvist made 22 saves last night and Matt Cullen scored a sparkling goal to lift the Rangers to a home-and-home sweep of the Devils. Petr Prucha also scored for the Rangers. For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside
