He was easily associated with these guys; by far not "tenuous" He went to Wright's church for 20 years and then when it was politically expedient, he swept him under the rug and ditched him. O listened to his hate speech and racism for that long and must have liked it. I find it a little odd that he has these friend and then kills them off; he seems to use them for gain and then moves on quickly when they hurt him. Just some thoughts. Just because he is not associating with them now doesn't mean anything. It means he can get rid of you as a friend as quickly as he can make you.

    One other thing that bothered me was one of his first promises about taking public funding but then dropped that when he realized he could rake in record breaking donations. Then the system was "broken." That's great; you spent twice the amount of Bush and Kerry combined in 04. Do we really want elections like this (this goes for both parties). Whoever has the most money wins? They also took (I am sure McCain did too, but to a lesser extent) money from untraceable credit cards. Money could easily have come from some bad people.

    He's not a member of Wright's church; Wright is retired; I don't think Obama was standing up and screaming "Amen!" at those services. Also, just another reason why religion and politics are a bad mix.

    He was for 20 years until he put him in a bad light; just because he isn't a member now. He just dropped the church.

    That's because he's got nothing to bring. My 7 year old granddaughter understands that there is a black man that is going to be president and think that a normal thing. She is white and she thinks that he is a great man. Think about that for a minute. Think of all the prejudice and strife and racial problems that we as adults have seen in our generations growing up and then realize what this means in this country to children growing up now and the ones to come and there are people still talking about Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, and supposed fake birth certificates, and all that other bullshit.
