Not a donation just to get a show but to help the cause because we are responsible. We want the guys to play and we want them to play a sold out show? Sold out shows mean a lot of traveling people and a lot of potential damage is created. I know the south is home to ALOT of fans. I was just thinking this is such an important cause to the boys and they are an important part of our lives. If that is a major reason in not touring the south lets help out. A donation not an automatic fee tacked on. I love the boys and want a show, if this is a major piece in the decision to not come here I will do my part to help offset. It was just an idea. See ya at the shows! (hopefully)

I like the idea of donating to the cause :) It's just that...it almost feels like we have to "bribe" them to play here, or give 'em something, lol, I don't know, it just doesn't feel right. I don't know how to explain it :o

I think it's total bullshit that this band doesn't play anywhere near the south. I was fucking fortunate to see them in Denver, because I'm a college student and I could afford the time off. But fuck! For a band that's quote unquote for the fans the excuse of not selling out large venues is quite shitty. My outlook of this band has been damaged severely. Fuck sell outs, you sell outs! This band deserves no creditbility at all! They're like, dare I say, politicians that don't visit states because they know they're going to get thier ass handed to them in that respective state. For a band for the people, this band carries a way to large chip on thier shoulder. How dare they take a geographic portion of the U.S. because it typically doesn't sell. Here's something for them, Kat, and whoever to see. Bands that are currently better than Pearl Jam:
    (1) Death Cab for Cutie
    (2) Radiohead
    (3) The Strokes
    (4) Foo Fighters
    (5) Red Hot Chili Peppers
    (6) White Stripes
    (7) Matisyahu
    (8) Wolf Mother
    (9) Green Day
    (10) Hard-Fi

Hey Ed, how does it feel to know a Jared Leto fronted band is recieving more air play than yours?
You are just a negative mindless pud.

The quote from Stone.....we could all be taking it out of context. Maybe he was referring to playing Louisiana, where let's face it, things are not back to normal and they probably would have a tough time selling out. If 10C can't announce something yet about a Southern tour, Stone sure isn't going to say something on a public interview. It just isn't logical to me that THIS BAND would pick some "reason" to "ban the South". For whatever reason, they skipped us, and the midwest, first time around. I'm still holding faith that they'll come around in '07. If 07 passes and they haven't....THEN IM GOING TO BE PISSED OFF BIG TIME!! In the meantime, I'm trying to keep my cool until we know something definite.

Here's a big FU for Stone's comments about not selling well in the South. Play smaller venues you freaking moron you still have a large contigency of fans here. Save on the environment by not having to make all the fans from the South travel across the U.S. or the world to see a show. I will guarantee everything I have that West Palm would out sale both Cinci, Grand Rapids, Albany, etc etc for god sake's you guys sunk low enough to play a seedy casino in Atlantic City why not the dirty South

    P>S

I am sick of having to petition (now I know what discrimination is all about) I never realized you were suppose to live above the mason dixon line in order to be accounted as an important fan. Last I checked my dollar spends the same as a person living in uhh anywhere but the South.

Understandable since there are almost 2000 posts in this thread, plus a lot of other threads and we can't get a straight answer. Just an offhand remark by Stone here and there and Jeff mentioning not playing places they "should be".

I wonder if the band is 100% behind the decision.

Well instead of playing raliegh and charlotte why not do just one show? A couple down in Florida and Atlanta.

I mean they played nashville and birmingham last time which seemed to be places they did not have to play. Maybe they could just do the major cities.

:( I moved to atlatna so i could see more bands and now my favorite band is not touring here :(

I'm getting there myself.......look there's no way that I am traveling to shitholes like Cincinnati, Boston or Pittsburgh. It's not happening....if that makes me a bad Pearl Jam fan, then so be it. The only towns of interest to me so far this year were either conflicting with final exams (yes, I am a 41 year old college student) or were dates with Tom Petty. I was not willing to spend the extra money to see less Pearl Jam and more Tom Petty.

Now if they go to some interesting cities, then I might travel like the wife and I did last year to Halifax.

Boston is a nice place to visit for a PJ show. I've done that before. But yeah, I agree with you on the dates this year. I could only do Philly and that was only because it was a holiday weekend. Lucky. All the others conflicted with other stuff (work, family) and I wasn't going to travel to see PJ open for Petty.

My original plan was to hit all of the Texas shows and maybe one or two more outside of Texas. Well, I got the one or two more outside of Texas.

Went through Boston on the way to Halifax..........just not interested in visiting that city...damn, those people talk funny.......BTW, I am New York Yankees fan, so I don't like being around Boston fans.
