Maybe it's on my part.
You suggested that it was wrong or improper to "take a political stance". And then you proceeded to make one:que_barium wrote:You can take a political stance if you wish......Politics and the bigwigs that control politicians in America are trying to force a showdown between the American "way of life" and Castro's "communism".
Seems a bit duplicitious, no?0 -
Commy wrote:So I did. And I still believe it be the case, that the proximity to the center of power of an empire affects the level of control said empire has over a the specific region.
Since then I have tried to convey the "agree to disagree" message so that we can end this pointless argument.
Well I guess it is you who misunderstands the complex geopolitical situation in the world. In the shadow of the light from a black sun
Frigid statue standing icy blue and numb
Where are the frost giants Ive begged for protection?
I'm freezing
Are you afraid, afraid to die

I didn't say it was wrong to take a political stance. My stance is in regard to the shlups like us doing the 9 to 5 that make this country tick, and the same kind of shlups that make Cuba tick, too.

See, here's the thing -- you said "take a political stance if you wish". And that implies that you're not taking one. Yet you did.
Anway, Cuba ticks because of the 9 to 5's of people largely outside of Cuba, friend. If Cuba had to survive on their own 9 to 5's, they'd be even worse off than they are today.
If you want to equate Cuba to America, good luck with that.0 -

I equate working people with working people. I don't consider the traditional propaganda of either government to be real work.

Are you sure about that? If I made your double-foam lattes with sour milk, would you equate working people with working people? If I made your house with paper mache rather than wood and drywall, would you equate working people with working people? If I made your computer out of cheese instead of silicon and copper, would you equate working people with working people?I don't consider the traditional propaganda of either government to be real work.
Me neither. If you're just equating propaganda with propaganda, I'll get on board with that. But when you start talking 9 to 5, you're not just talking about propaganda.0 -

Why?In a competitive market the level of craftsmanship, artistry, skill, extra effort, etc. all come into play... I understand this. Who doesn't? What's your point?
My point is that you said "I equate working people with working people" which could potentially mean you equate a man who plants candy corn in a field with the man who plants seeds, or the man who builds a plane made out of swiss cheese to the man who builds it out of aluminum. Just curious how those can be equated.0 -

hence the "lmao." Seriously, though, we shouldn't be making fun of the mentally ill.
Is this your best?

That's not an argument. It's just a poor insult.0 -
