Well, the lying isn't good...but, if someone came into your office and demanded to know if you were having an affair...if you were having one, you'd probably lie. I probably would...and I'm not much of a liar. It was a lie about sex. If it were a lie over something of actual substance, I wouldn't be quite so forgiving. People went very low to get Clinton. No one went after Kennedy, etc., (and there's teams worth of etcs on the cheating president thing) for the same type of behavior. People will lie to get sex and get out of the trouble having it often tends to cause.

It isn't even the lying to his wife. (She's a bitch anyway ;) ) Its the lying to EVERYONE while UNDER OATH i kinda have a problem with.

I'm pretty sure that if Obama was white, he would just be viewed as another politician that made a lot more promises than he ever could or would keep.

Basically, if Obama were white, he would be John Edwards.

    There, I said it.

    Yeah he would be John Edwards but a little more agggressive on foreign policy, a little more vague on domestic issues, a little..er wait a sec...looks more like John Mccanin than anyone;

Clinton and Obama may share many views and policies, but the reason I would vote for Obama is that he can run a campaign. Everything about it has been top notch. Clinton's on the other hand has been a mess. So that's why he would get my vote. NOT because he's black.

it's about who can run a campaign, financially. Hillary can't run a campaign. How the hell is she going to run a country? And her campaign has constantly been off topic, way too much negativity! She has run out of money on more than one occasion. And I realize that every campaign has a lot of people involved, but it really feel like hillary's campaign isn't ran by her. It feels more like it is ran by a business. No emotion or thought process, purely bad business. So those are some of the reasons I will vote for Barack. If somehow Clinton gets the nomination I will vote for Nader.

    I agree, screw the sex.
They should have gone after him on the drug smuggling\conspiracy to commit felony\felony weapons charges for his role as governor in the Mena\Iran Contra\Cocaine for Illegal Weapons debacle.

    :D

Yeah, except none of that actually happened. So, they decided to spend their money where, if you'll forgive the pun, it would get the most bang for the buck.

It is ignorant to make a strong statement either way ... Are there lots of people who like him for reasons other than his race? Of course (myself included).
Are there lots of people who do cast ballots based on race (or based on sexism)? Absolutely.

    I'll be honest.
As much as i'd like to think it really wasn't true,
I'm pretty sure that if Obama was white, he would just be viewed as another politician that made a lot more promises than he ever could or would keep. Beyond that, he would get a bunch of crap for being inexperienced. AND, there is no way in hell he would ever have come close to beating Clinton or Edwards.

Obviously we will never know, sense he is clearly not white,
but it's just something i find interesting to speculate on.

And don't misread this, i'm not saying people are only voting for him because he is black, or that they even know when they are voting that him being black is affecting their decision.

But this whole "change" thing, and his "not a washington insider" thing ... imho, it only goes over because of the guys skin color.

I agree with this, at least in part ...

Hillary has overspent. But, she seems likes she's coming out of it. And weeks after sending out for an Obama sticker, I still haven't got it. This from a man that raised 55 million in one month. If the guy can't get 55 million and use some of it to help get his people organized enough to pump out stickers for customers paying $7 a pop (shipping and handling), how the hell is he going to run the country? He can't get me a fricken *sticker* in over 4 weeks???? Purely bad business.

Of course, neither of the campaigns at the business level are really run by the candidates. They both have business people deciding what to do since the candidates themselves are just slightly busy thinking of what story to tell us next.

Son, Mr. Obama "said," have I got a little story for you. I have no idea what my own pastor's views are although I have been a member of my church for many years. Obama did take the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope" from a sermon delivered by Wright.

“Mr. Obama obviously would not choose to belong to Mr. Wright’s church and seek his advice unless he agreed with at least some of his views,” Wall Street Journal columnist Ron Kessler, publisher of the conservative Web site NewsMax.com, wrote Friday.

I guess we should all vote for Nader, except that he's a politician and that makes him a professional liar, as well.

Richard Wright: Openly denounced and off the campaign.

Louis Farakhan: Never even close to part of the campaign, yet, publicly rejected and denounced.

The Clinton is a monster Lady: Off the campaign

Now, what about Geraldine Ferraro? Clinton has not even close to appologized for or adequately rejected or denounced this dinosaur's vile tripe. Sure, she stepped down (with no urging from clinton), but continues to run her mouth.
What about clinton's other surrogates she sets up to spew hatred for her so she looks innocent. Give me a break with this Richard Wright bullshit. Call in to the Hannity show and chat with him about it for God's sake, but give the rest of us a break.

    Really?

You mean you actually don't think the "Iran-Contra" Scandal happend or you think somehow Bill Clinton, who was then the govenor of the state where the airport the CIAs cocaine smuggling operation was based out of, did not know about and was not involved in keeping it underwraps?

    Cause that is just ridiculous.
here ... you can read plenty about the evidence on Iran Contra, Clintons involvement, and you can even listen to an audio clip of ole Bill DENYING that "anything" was taking place at Mena.

    Hmm.
    Nothing taking place, huh Bill?
I mean, apart from the CIA smuggling tons and tons of pure cocaine in to America to then turn and sell on the streets for blackmarket cash, which they then used to buy guns without serial numbers to ship to their little rebel army ...

... and ole Bill knew about, and indeed was COMPLICIT in the whole affair. Particularly the COVER UP!

So what is this "it never happened"?
here is one of several videos on ole Bill helping to cover up the CIAs tracks. That's a crime, by the way.

And yet he thought enough about the teachings of this racist that he spent 20 formative years in the congregation. And yet he thought highly enough about the teachings of this racist that he had him marry the Obama's. And yet he thought highly enough about this racist that he titled his book after Wright's words. No wonder his wife had never been proud of this country. She spent so long listening to Wright telling her God damn this country. They spent 20 years being taught that the white man introduced AIDS into the black population to kill them off. They spent 20 years being taught that whites introduced drugs to the black population so they could stick 'em in prisons. I wonder how Obama really feels about this country.

Blah blah blah blah......blah who fucking cares what his crazy pastor thinks. His conspiracy theories aren't too far from many of the crazies here think.(cough cough uh drifting uh abook)

Enough with this shit already!! If I wanted a president with the best church and the best pastor I would blow my head off. Luckily I care about issues.

I crave the day that America could elect an agnostic president, forget blacks and women. Now that would be spectacular!!!

I'm not voting for Obama because I don't agree with his beliefs.

Illegal aliens should be deported, not helped.
The Welfare State is a mess that will get worse.
I don't want universal health care. Who pays for it?
He is going to tax us blind.
I don't like his wife and I don't like the company he has kept.

We need tax cuts. The rich should not have to pay for the poor. Help is one thing as there are people who should be helped. The are too many people who abuse the system.

Careful. Speaking out against Obama is forbidding in these here parts.

If you cared about issues you'd find a candidate that articulated them without resorting to vague platitudes.

And I don't care about the "best church", since I have no interest in any church. But I do care about where someone developed their belief systems. Wright gives us insight into the kind of bullshit Obama ate up for 20 years. This isn't about "guilt by association". If he'd only met the guy a few times, it would be. This is something much bigger. This goes to core values.

I agree with about a couple of points though - the crazies, and wanting an agnostic president.

    *sigh*

Its all addressed, by Obama himself, right here.

i don't care who you cast your ballot for. Its your choice. I will, however, suggest you stop getting your talking points from Sean Hannity.

Not a foxnews fan, and am definitely not a Hannity fan. But that huffingtonpost article was a pretty weak dodge. Obama spent two decades receiving his spiritual foundation from Wright. If that can be dismissed by Obama by simply saying he disagrees with Wright on the statements in question, then I guess that works for you. It doesn't fit reality but if it makes Obama supporters happy, that's great. The reality is that this was Obama's spiritual advisor for decades. If Obama disagreed with his statements, why stick around for 20 years and have him marry you to your wife? Why bring kids into that environment? Face it, Wright represents Obama's beliefs to some extent. The only question is to what extent.

Yeah, it really makes no sense to say that you don't agree with a guy while seeking advice from him for that long. Why did he choose the guy then? It would have to mean Obama is a highly illogical person when making decision for himself or he's just not being upfront and trying to distance himself. He's a politician so you can make the call there.
