We were laughing all day at the comments from the broadcasters yesterday. We all had comments that Dungy and Smith should have been saying. Such as, " I sure don't want to be the first black coach to lose the super bowl". We thought it would have been fitting to have D. Williams toss the coin to represent the first black qb to win the bowl. You know, to keep up on the topic and such.

Now that they have driven the topic into the ground. Maybe it can just go away and become a f'n game again.

Oh and the comment during the game about what poor, poor, tank johnson went through just to be at the game. Illegal hand guns, tons of ammo. Yeah that is tough to overcome in the long run when you are trying to sack the qb. :rolleyes:

i grew up in ohio 45 minutes south of detroit... i rooted for the lions... my tears ran out long ago

i didnt even watch the game, couldn't care less about the bears. the buckeyes' pitiful showing in the national championship is what upset me. and even then, i made fun of troy smith for thanking god when he won the heisman. it's got nothing to do with whose team is doing it, it's just a goofy and ridiculous thing to do. im not even offended, which differs from the righteous indignation actors speaking their minds causes you (unless, of course, that actor speaks things you agree with like reagan and ah-nold... funny how the outrage only goes to LIBERAL hollywood types... freedom lover my ass ya hypocrite). im just amused.

Guys in his position thank god all of the time. I really don't care. But "we did it in a Christian way" or whatever...I guess if I am a player or assistant coach on that team I check my Judaism, Islam, Agnosticism, Atheism, Budhism or whatever at the door. I'm there to win in a Christian way.

He never said God was on his side, he was thanking him for the opportunity and the ability to be as fortunate as he is. I dont think he was trying to infer that God is a Colts fan. Thanking God is annoying, I agree, but at least understand what he is saying before you decide to rip a guy for it.

somebody peaked in hs and their life has never been as good since... it's a game. a tough one, but a game. and if you dont think sports are chock full of prima donnas we must not be seeing the same games.

im not ripping the guy. you admit it's annoying. that's all i was ever commenting on. actually, i wouldn't even go that far, cos im not annoyed by it. i just think it's funny and ridiculous. so i poke fun at people who do it. cos even if their intent is not to say god was on their side, it comes off that way almost every time.

To all you idiots complaining about how a millionaire athlete can relate to God, I doubt many of you know what Coach Dungy has gone through the past two years. I doubt any of you can relate to being a deeply spiritual person who has had to cope with losing a child, only to find the personal strength to rise above it and reach the height of your profession only two years later.

It wasn't about making an oscar style acceptance speech or making a front...it was about being real and showing the world what your beliefs are.....God forbid anybody does that in today's society.

I do not know Coach Dungy personally nor am I a Colts fan - in fact I hated seeing horse face Manning win yesterday - but I am a huge football fan and every time I have seen a piece on Dungy he's always related spirtuallity or faith in his words.......and I was very happy to see Dungy win.
