Yeah, you're selling it. Don't get mad when someone unintentionally insults you.
Move ahead, I'm working in other threads now. This one has finally met it's end hopefully."Sarcasm: intellect on the offensive"
"What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact."

It was an emotional moment for him I'm sure. He has lost his son, mom, and I think Dad all in the last 4 years or so. He has been criticized in the past (before he was a head coach) for his even tempered demenor and couldn't get an interview for a head coaching position because owners wanted a firery leader. Well, he stuck to his beliefs and handled himself his way, according to his faith and he ended up a champion. I'm sure he felt relieved, overjoyed, and above all had a great sense of satisfaction in that he could be the best and not compromise his integrity. And he wanted to share that thought with the world hoping to inspire others.
When some out of control, not so good a person thanks God for something it is certainly funny...and sad. But When Tony mentioned his faith, it means something because he lives it.
You know Cincy when somebody like that is thanking god or Allah or whoever, it does seem genuine. When you see some guy with gold capped teeth, way too much bling, guns, drugs, etc, well, something seems a little askew. May just be the way I see religion and the respect you have for the book you are supposed to be following. You've changed your place in this world!0 -

as the first reply stated....kills me when I see a millionare sports figure thanking god for making a shot, home run, touchdown.......actually quite sickening....but really think they do it because they are trying to convince themselves....hey I won the super bowl...I feel blessed....let me show all those non believers.
that asside he does seem like a class act.....as do many folks that express their faith. Both coaches were class acts....and think its great it offended white folk that it was brought up both coaches were African American.10-18-2000 Houston, 04-06-2003 Houston, 6-25-2003 Toronto, 10-8-2004 Kissimmee, 9-4-2005 Calgary, 12-3-05 Sao Paulo, 7-2-2006 Denver, 7-22-06 Gorge, 7-23-2006 Gorge, 9-13-2006 Bern, 6-22-2008 DC, 6-24-2008 MSG, 6-25-2008 MSG0 -

yeah, i think that's why im skeptical of it, for the reasons even flow stated. all year they're beating their wives, impregnating mistresses, skipping out on child support, doing drugs, buying huge diamonds for themselves, and gunning down rival gang members (more so in hip hop). then they win an award or something and suddenly they're all humble, thanking god, and talking about christianity... where was that the other 364 days of the year? it's such a hollow lip service in most cases.
apparently this has not been the case with dungy. regardless, my first comment was just a gag reflecting the impressions i just mentioned. if dungy is different, i am happy to hear that but i still dont think my dumb little joke is a big deal and i never intended to belittle dungy's honest faith or offend anyone. i just got the impression it was yet another in a long line of the empty crap we've seen in athletics and music for years.0 -
