Get a grip and discuss Roe v. Wade like this thread was designed for, 'ay? Let's keep it copasetic, 'ay? Sound good, 'ay?All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

Hahahahahahaha.
In all seriousness, I would prefer people who can't intelligently discuss the issues to ignore me.All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.
-Enoch Powell0 -
you are not intelligently discussing the issue. you are talking a bunch of bullshit to get under people's skin. you can't reasonably debate with someone who has no interest in hearing the arguments of the other side.
my ass you would make your 14 year old sister who has been raped carry that baby to full term and deliver it. your response "nobody's life is at stake" is just a cop out and is just plain idiotic. why compound a family tragedy with your apathy? you do not have the ability to put yourself in other people's shoes, and until you can there is no reasoning with you."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

Look, buddy, I am not trying to get under anyone's skin. Millions of people in America agree with me and you would say the same thing to them if they came on this board and said what I am saying. YOU'RE the one who is copping out by not responding to the gist of any of what I have said. You have not responded to my Roe v. Wade arguments, the websites I have posted, or any arguments made by fellow pro-lifers.
You've singled me out and made it appear as though I am a loner. That's foolishness. Millions and Millions of people agree with exactly what I am saying. You apparently live in an isolated shell of ignorance. All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

Then I suggest you place yourself on that ignore list. CorporateWhore, there have been numerous threads on this topic and plently of intelligent responses from posters on BOTH sides of the issue. I see a bit of projecting from you as you have offered nothing but insults. You are not doing your 'cause' any justice. The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance,
but the illusion of knowledge.

Why post something if it isn't on topic?
Respond to one of my posts within these 10 pages! hahaAll I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.
-Enoch Powell0 -
So would anybody other than Corporate Whore like to discuss with me why Roe v Wade will be overturned?
Oh and if it's all the same, can we have the discussion without all the vitriole and histrionics?
Just an intelligient discussion about why some people think it will be overturned. I am no closer to understanding that now than I was 10 pages ago.NOPE!!!

isolated shell of ignorance. good one. sounds like a description of a church congregation to me. as i have said before, i think everyone is set in their beliefs. you will never change anybody's mind on this forum. you are right from your side and i am right from mine.
the point is roe v wade is legal, and you can't deal with it so you argue semantics and complain about how it became law. i could bitch about how alot of things became law under suspicious circumstances but i will save it for another time. because you can't deal with it you project your views onto everyone else and brag that you are going to go to a pro life march, as if anybody on here cares. i hope it works out for you.
it is settled law whether you like it or not. this is a woman's issue, and a woman's right to choose what happens to her body. as i have read your thousands of posts under various screennames over the years, i have come to a conclusion. i think you are sexist. you seem to want women to be relegated to the kitchen and be subservient. sounds kind of like the taliban to me. if you repeal it why not take the vote away from women as well? then again you may be in favor of that since so many of them voted democrat in november, but thats a different thread altogether. people from your side seem to care more about the unborn than the born, and i will never agree with your logic. millions and millions who support your side are not found on a pearl jam message board. i suggest if you want to preach to the choir and find a majority of people who agree with you, kindly visit your church message board instead."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

Kinda like the patriot act right? All settled! The government can just come into my house and rifle through my papers and I can't do anything about it. But, I might as well not fight it since it's all settled up. Can't do anything now!
Last time I checked, this was a republic and I could vote against anything I want, including abortion. All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

Ahhh yes, rather than have your iron clad logic be challenged, it would be a good idea if I was tossed into a group of like-minded individuals. After all, society works best when absolutely everyone agrees with one another eh? Haha, I find that comment hilarious.
"If you disagree with someone, just find people who agree with you and talk to them instead. That way, your position can be reaffirmed and self-examination won't need to take place."
A very intellectual position you hold there. All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

Despite the 10-some pages of insults, off-topic posts, and personal attacks, the legal issue of Roe v Wade does make for an interesting debate in that Democrats never complain of it's unconstitutional origins, but they constantly complain of the current administration's refusal of following the Constitution itself. The thread was meant to be a debate on the legal aspect of Roe v Wade, not the moral aspect. I hate to say it, but CorporateWhore has a valid point.
I'm a Democrat as well, but I can't help but see the hypocrisy of so many in this thread. It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win0 -

These ladies, while they are feminists unfortunately, are also pro-life.
For some reason, they never see abortion as the right option for women and seek to offer women other options.
"Does Feminists for Life want to criminalize women for having abortions?
The early feminists enacted laws against abortion as consumer protection for women.
FFL has never advocated prosecuting women seeking abortion, although we believe that women are capable of following the law. Why doesn’t the law hold accountable those who threaten or coerce a woman into an abortion by withholding financial resources and emotional support? Abandonment is a powerful form of coercion.
We should criminalize anyone who withholds child support, fires a woman from her job because she is pregnant, refuses to accommodate her pregnancy, expels her from school, or threatens violence—-any act that forces her to choose between sacrificing her child and sacrificing her education, career plans, or safety from violence.
We believe that we should hold responsible those who profit from women’s pain—-especially the abortion industry.
Most important, we need to jump into hyperdrive to provide resources and solutions that will support women."All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

The PATRIOT Act is completely unconstitutional and any good democrat (and sensible Republican) should admit it. The 4th amendment is being trampled on by it. But the difference here is that Bush enacted it. Therefore, it's "okay" to say it's unconstitutional. Roe v. Wade never gets attention for being unconstitutional when it clearly is. This is because some people like the results gained from it.
The "cause" is just as important as the "effect." Consistency is key.All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

So gimmesometruth can you? Please? Gimme some truth that is?
It is very difficult to find just basic facts on this issue. Without the emotion and misinformation. So can you tell me please, is there really any chance that roe v wade is not legal, and any real chance it will be overturned? Has this whole thread just been the rantings of another zealot or is there any truth to this? What is your take on people's feelings on this issue in your community? I'd really appreciate hearing your views.NOPE!!!
