    White people for the most part shrug the racist comments from non-whites and identify it for the hate and ignorance it really is; and they stop listening. I've done it for years. I ignore racist stupidity and continue along with my day and my life.

    But some black people and other non-whites are clinging, clutching and nurturing it all, so as to make a huge drama and issue over it. All the while claiming entitlement in their part of making these kind of comments.

    Agreed, dude. This society we live in has no concept of moderation or balance when it comes to racial issues. We are expected to take all the lumps.

    This "battle" analogy is so ridiculous, I'm not sure where to begin. It's like suggesting that anti-war groups should go to war with someone "to prove a point". It makes no sense.

    If you're better than they are, keep being better. And when they attack your words and demand an apology, kindly tell them that you respect their right to say whatever demeaning thing about you they choose, but that you have nothing to apologize for. And see who ends up winning the culture war there.

    Imus' appeasements are Imus' alone, as are Oprah's, as are yours. He said he was sorry, told the public he thought his career was over. What more is there to say? This "punishment" you talk about in defense of Imus is accepted by Imus. What's the problem?

    Then why wasn't the other guy who called them "hos" also taken to task? Imus didn't even start the use of that word, it was some other guy. Imus was the one that made it racial by referring to the nappy hair. "Hos" isn't a racial slur. What, you can't have a white ho?

    LOL, that appears to be a bush of your own making. Speaking for myself, I can't remember that last time I used the word. Even when I was a kid, I didn't use that word.

    But then again, maybe I have a subconscience motive, since my bloodline and family tree had two black africans enter the bloodline, a long, long time ago.

    My take on the problem is simply that one person can make public racial remarks and have his career ruined, while another can do basically the same thing and it gets laughed off. Even a hardcore social rights activist has to see the inconsistency here as a problem.

    I also think Oprah is a ho. But that's that my bias shining through. I don't like most talk show hosts.

    Please. When people say things like "well, black people can say stuff to each other that we can't. It's not fair." it doen't take a linguistic genius to figure out what "stuff" they're talking about.
