I've been checking the pit insessantly!

screw PJ concerts, I'd rather see them play for me alone in my Living Room

Pearl Jam will get to play a full set as long as they would at a show of their own. And when they are done playing, you can go straight to another show.

I'm sure there will be a lot of other good bands at Bonnaroo. I love seeing so much live music all in one weekend.

Have you actually seen PJ at a festival? I saw them at Reading festival in 2006 and they were incredible, we got about 25 songs, which is about standard for a PJ show. I would go out on a limb and say that the Reading show was even better than the tiny Astoria show I saw earlier in the year. Just make sure you get right to the barrier down the front.

As someone else noted on another board, the official Tenn. state bird is the 'Mockingbird', and the county that 'roo is in is 'Coffee' county. It's almost a sure bet that this hint is pointing towards Bonnaroo. Whether they tour any more than that remains to be seen, but I've been planning on going to Bonnaroo in 2008 for the first time anyways. This would just be a fucking amazing amount of icing on the cake for me.

My first instinct was to bash you for your insular thinking and obvious lack of musical taste. (Last year a few bands I saw were The Black Keys, Ben Harper, WILCO, Government Mule w/ John Paul Jones: Zep tunes and a Black Sabbath encore of Sweet Leaf/War Pigs, Super Jam of Ben Harper, John Paul Jones, and the drummer from the Roots, Ween, Wolfmother, Gillian Welch, Widespread Panic and a few others.)

But, I decided not to do that and just tell you that a headlining slot at Bonnaroo might actually pressure the guys into playing a longer set than usual to show that they can keep up with everyone else. Panic played 4 hours straight in 2005. Ben Harper will come out, Neil will come out, Jim James will come out and Ed and the guys might be sitting in with others. It's going to be phenomenal.

I will say that in 05 when the Dave crowd left after Friday night, the festival felt a lot better. I hope they won't be saying that about us uptight Pearl Jam fans.
