I'm starting to get the feeling all this Barackin' in the free world busyness, along with the Bonnarumers (common, it's official by now) pumpin', means a political tour through the southern states.

you got your PJ dates guys! mark my words and vote for change!

Everyone seems convinced this is a Bonnaroo announcement, which it looks like it will be. When I saw the initial post I was hoping that this was news about the new direction they were going w/ bootlegs...
  • I really hope its something that just takes us all by surprise. I hope it has nothing to do with bonnaroo (well I do but you know ) and its something bigger and better. WORLD TOUR FIVE SHOWS IN EVERY CITY TEN CLUB FLOOR ONLY GENERAL ADMISSION. BACK STAGE PASSES FOR ALL TEN CLUBERS!!!! thats what my votes for.

oh shit even better What if they announced that but then right after it they were like "Oh yeah we have a new album here it is!" and it was something more amazing and beautiful then Ten, Yield and Vs combined.

yeah now that has my vote for sure. It will happen you just wait.
    Shows:
    San Diego 2003
    Grand Rapids 2004
    Grand Rapids 2006
    Detroit 2006
    Columbus 2010

  • Here's hoping there is a more than the Roo festival. That alone is pretty neat (I'm probably 60/40 on going vs. not going if they headline, depends on who else is there) but some more shows on top of it (perhaps that's the twitter twitter????) would be fantastic!

They'll tour somewhere in the US to encourage people to vote and they'll start working in the new record.
And later this year, they'll announce another South American tour to take place after the elections.
    or something like that.

  • imagine it is just the announcement of the worldwide singles boxed set as mentioned. all bitching of previous months would not compare to this place after that.

I think anyone who doesn't think this is Bonnaroo is crazy. It may be more, but i'm pretty sure that if they are headlining they won't be able to release other southern dates right away.

I'm just hoping that it if they do plan on any further touring they give us a heads up.

That makes a lot of sense now that you point it out...

I hope its something substantial, not just a Bonnaroo announcement. Festivals suck.

Yeah, I don't think this show will be a one-off, but they'll give a few months to help sell the festival tickets.

Of course they may state 'only North American appearance' like they did with Lollapalooza.

The mockingbird is from the central timezone, since that is where Bonnaroo is. I expect the lineup will be out at about 1:00 am eastern (12:00 midnight central).

It's just going to be Bonnaroo, with more select dates in the future. Which is cool, but tough for the west coaster. I haven't decided yet.

  • Fuck Bonnaroo....

Festivals suck a$$. I would rather see PJ alone on a bill...

i.e. longer performance and not seeing a bunch of other bands that blow. imnsho.

    MLB, out

I agree...I'd rather take my closeish ten club seats and maybe get to see a 2 1/2-3 hour show than compete with 100,000 other smelly people in a 100 degree field somewhere for a maybe 2 hour set of mostly hits.

  • I have been listening to PJ through my Ipod at work for the past 10 hours and counting. I am getting really excited for this announcement.

I have never been to Bonnaroo, and this would be a great time to see other bands and of course the Top of them all!!

Yes on the 100,000. Yes on the 100 degree. But Bonnaroo headliners are not your standard 2 hour setlists. They may very well go beyond three/three and a half. NO CURFEW BABY! WOOT WOOT!

Yeah definitely not a Lolla type deal. They are slotted for four hours and can play longer than that. Neil Young played for about 3.5 when he headlined there.

Again, Pearl Jam could play for 3 hours or more. Headliners at Bonnaroo get time slots long enough for a full show of their own.

I just hope it will not be too full of hits like Lollapalooza.
