Had a conversation via text with my sister at Comcast-Spectacor this afternoon...went a little something like this:

Her: Hey I heard PJ is going for 3 shows
Me: Holy shit, is this confirmed?
Her: It's almost but I'm 99% sure it's happening, I've heard it from a few people
Me: Did they say when? I keep hearing September
Her: I'm not sure, I'll ask and let you know.

So, no real new information here but for me, this pretty much puts it to rest. I'm readying my credit card now, haha.

Has she been right about this kind of thing in the past? Only reason I ask is my fear that rumors started here have seeped into Comcast-Spectacor. :D

In any event, thanks for the update!

Well, she's not into the band at all so she's not being influenced by our craziness, haha. She's hearing it from people higher up than her (she's been there about three years and does premium sales for the whole complex) so I don't know. If her boss is a Pearl Jam fan it might be tainted

I do prefer your info over mine. I'll have to check on why mine was so negative when this is going on at your end.

Hopefully we'll hear solid info really soon (but not until I get my bonus check on June 15!

More rumors about PJ at the spectrum... My hairdresser told me that she spoke to someone in the know at the spectrum and he/she told her that Pearl Jam & Phish are booked for the fall at the Spectrum. She said PJ are booked for 3 or 4 shows and the same with Phish.. I don't care for Phish but there has been a lot of talk about PJ at the spectrum this year and this is from yet another source. Don't know what to believe but it was good news nonetheless.

I read today from a good source that Phish just signed on to play the final Spectrum show(s), so maybe this corroborates...

With all the seperate sources contacted in this thread, the show has to happen. Just a matter of the TWEET!!

My source, who I've mentioned in this thread previously, tortuous punk that he is, told me the other day that
    noise has finally settled down....

    FOR NOW

He even included the devil face.

So take that for what it's worth, but I would definitely say while nothing's finalized, it's still likely to happen.

He figures we'll probably know more once Ed's shows are out of the way. Which works for me because right about mid-June is when I get my very first bonus check from my new job, and it will be more than sufficient to fund at least a few local shows. Wheeee!!!

I guess no one knows when the "final shows" will be? I'd assume if Phish is playing a few shows to close the place out, PJ would play the week before that. Or so...

Well, I think the Phish rumors are coming along fast and furious because I think the Spectrum wanted Bruce to close the place and are calling an audible, because he's playing the last shows at Giants Stadium 9/30 and 10/2 and 10/3.

The last Spectrum event is set for 9/30.

hmm ... interesting considering those late September Seattle rumours.

These rumours have been going on for SO LONG ... I just want closure on this, one way or the other :)

also wasn't bon jovi supposed to be one of the final acts at the spectrum. i could see bruce being the final act at the spectrum or bon jovi.

The latest rumor I heard is that there would be 4 big acts to close the Spectrum in September: Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam and Bruce. Now the Phish rumors have started going around.

When the head of Live Nation in Philly was on the radio 2 weeks ago talking about summer concerts he said that there are a lot of big things in the works for September at the Spectrum but said contractually we can't mention any names.

The closure should come once the Ed tour is over and a band tour is announced. It just makes sense.

Perhaps. Maybe Ed is waiting to see how he feels after his solo tour and the number of full band shows aside from what they've already committed to will be determined after that?

You'd have to assume that talks are on-going right now for pretty much any venue that they may or may not play in September or October. So it is just matter of when everything gets pulled together and then the band gives the official thumbs up to the schedule...

My good friend over-sees all the events for the wachovia center, he informed me that pearl jam will play 4 shows to close down the spectrum. It's true, they will be the absolute last band to ever play the spectrum

4 shows? That seems like a lot, but you never know. My guess is that they have 4 days booked over which there will be 3 shows played. If you get more info, post it for us. Thanks for thee info!

there is no way pearl jam will play 5 nights in philly. i dont believe that. the most they played at msg in ny city was 3 nights rights? when they play in philly, they usualy seem to pick camden nj instead and play outsidei n summer 2 nights. so i could see philly get 2 shows. but maybe not till october and spectrum close in september? someone say they will be in philly sept 5. but that date makes no sense. they are playing chicago on 24th, then san fran aug 28 or 29 on the friday. why would they go from midwest, to west coast, all way back to east coast??? that is a stupid travel schedule, even if you got a private jet to fly in, it is asking for jetlag.

id have to think after the san fran show at outlands, they will do a small west coast/southwest tour, and maybe end that tour with the austin city limits show, then maybe af ter that go to east coast. if i was a tour manager and booking manager, i sure would try to set it up that way anyway. less travel for the band, and it makes more sense in many ways.

im still pretty suprised they are playing london england one week, and like 4 or 5 day later going to toronto. that a bit suprising so you never know.

i just wish they announce the dates soon for the rest of the year. i remember pj before they used to announced shows 5 months in advance. i hate waiting for last second announcements

i got stp ticket for vegas the other day, they only announced it 1 month before show. ticket went on sale 3 days ago, and show is july 2nd. but this is usualy not pj style to put dates out at the last second
