Season 1 was incredible. Season 2 overall was a disappointment. I felt like I was watching a medieval version of Lost. Too many characters, plot lines, etc. I hope Season 3 is better.Gimli 1993

You really thought so? I think people who haven't read the books might have that viewpoint. You're right, there are TONS of characters and it is hard to keep up. I definitely suggest reading the books. The problem was that Season 2 was more of a mash-up of books 2 and 3, whereas Season 1 was just Book 1. So the plot lines progressed normally in Season 1...season 2 was a bit chaotic at times.1998-06-30 Minneapolis

Having watched season 1, then having and read all 5 books before season 2, I'd definitely have to back Mamasan.... knowing who all the characters are makes it so much more enjoyable.
Martin's character development in the books is huge, and doesn't translate to season 2 like it did for Ned Stark in season 1 as HBO just doesn't have the time to develop all the important characters unfortunately....Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
