Ill be there Friday night and around the city Saturday. Ive only been to Austin one time (a few months ago) but it was a really cool city. I recommend you guys to check out Chuy's Restaurant, its awesome! Its on Barton Springs Road right by Zilker Park. Hope to meet some of you guys there cant wait!
Chuy's will be tought to get to since I think they shut that road down at the S. Lamar intersection. If you are around the city Saturday, check out a place called Quatro's by campus. It's my buddies place and great for college FB watching with tons of flat screens. I'll be there Saturday.
Chuy's rules!! Should be able to walk to it right?
May have to check out Quatro's. Sounds cool!
You can definitely walk to Chuy's, but there are a lot of good ones on Barton Springs. Baby Acapulco's is a decent Mexican restaurant and serves a purple margarita made with everclear. FYI - they will only let you have two. Also there's Shady Grove, which is a sweet outdoor / indoor venue. You really can't go wrong any place you hit

Yeah...if you are at the festival walking is no problem. One guy said he was just going to be around town on Sat. and I would not recommend trying to get down in there unless you are headed to the show. Great food! I miss my hometown. :-(
Cuatro's is great Near campus (1004 24th St. and San Gabriel) Flat screens everywhere and a huge wall of screens outside showing one image all pieced together. Pretty sick. http://www.cuatrosaustin.com/

Billy's Beer-B-Que, on Barton Springs, brews their own beer and has the best, I mean the best Hefeweizen I've ever had. And I loves me some hef. Even a friend of mine who hates beer loved it. BBQ's not bad either.

The purple. Ugh - That leads to craziness quickly. Only 2 allowed. You really only need 1.
I sure hope I meet some of you guys there close to the stage after the gates open. I would like to grab a spot for my chairs and stuff but my GF wants to leave to go see Ben Harper. I hope I make friends so we can latch onto a group and I can take her to see him and not worry about losing a good spot that we secure early in the day.
if you leave for Ben Harper then you'll have no chance of getting back to the front for PJ because hundreds of people will have packed in during that time. Tell your GF that Ben is good but PJ is the best!

Biggest f'n drought in the history of the universe, and it's going to rain for ACL.
It may not rain on Sunday, who knows? Since when has a weather man been right around here?
And for what it's worth, I'm guessing Long Road for the opener.....

Them Crooked Vultures set a hell of a precedent for the festival last night, and Sunday can't come soon enough! Anyone else staying at the Howard Johnson's on I-35 South?

I would have LOVED to go to that show. I'm sure those three were really into it. I love Dave and Josh.
This work thing sucks.... :x

There are a shit ton of bars and restaurants on S. Lamar not far from the park.

I will guess long road, only because it's been so long since they've returned to TX
That was my first guess. I am thinking maybe Gonna See My Friend....BUT, I would DIE if it is Of The Girl.
you might be right, that's a good guess
Yep. Gotta think the smart money is on Long Road. But if the rain is coming down, how sweet would Wash be as an opener?
i actually asked the lady if it was actually shower proof.
I liked the ones last year.
Unless it is raining in which case I call Wash!

WASH!!!
The first show I ever saw in '91 had a Wash opener. That song (and that voice) had me at "oh, please".
I would probably cry if they opened with it. Ok, now I TOTALLY want a Wash opener.
off to acl i go in an hour or so. ill be the sleepy one with bags under his eyes.
