Sweet. What kind of beer did you get to start with? We are about 6 batches in. It's a lot of fun.

Yeah, dude, stuff is awesome. It's funny people only really learn about it through those gift packs.

i haven't opened it yet but the box has a picture of a mexican cerveza and a czech pilsner. it's from Mr. Beer. i'm told that's not the best, but it's good to start with? what do you you use?

and yeah, the corsendonk box probably draws a lot of people in at places like wegmans and stuff. my brother said it looks like it's made by Mattel.:lol:

I forgot to mention (maybe it was more of an assumption that you knew) that you will want to leave a little at the bottom of the bottle when you pour it in a glass. I didn't do this when I tried my first one of this batch and I would recommend not forgetting that.

Regardless, hope you enjoy it (at least a little).

Gotcha. We started with an American Pale Ale and move on from there. Have done an IPA, Pumpkin, Baltic Porter, Saison de Noel and something else I can't remember. Have done all kits so far with some slight enhancements (whiskey soaked wood chips to the porter, extra clove cinnamon and pumpkin to the pumpkin) Most of the kits we have done are Brewers Best that they sell at Barrys Home Brew in Northern Liberties. Good spot. Also you can get good deals on kits and all things brewing at Northern Brewer. We have done at least a couple from there. You can get real good deals.

Ha, yeah, it definitely looks cheesy, but is so good.

I managed to get my hands on a bottle. I believe 50 cases made it into WI. It was extremely sought after.

My daughter sent me these today. Her boyfriend works for the Santa Rosa PD so hopefully more will be arriving in the future. There were 3 but she dropped one. :fp:

    You are a lucky man!

I love the elder. I am hoping to be getting a few in the mail myself soon too (i think in two weeks) :D

I stocked up for the weekend yesterday on some nice stouts.
    Got:
    Southern Tier's Oatmeal Stout
    oat.jpg
    Lagunitas Cappuuccino Stout
    capstout.jpg
Terrappin's Wake N Bake Coffee Oatmeal Stout

I've had the bottom two before and love them both. Trying the Southern Tier for the first time

Half Acre Daisy Cutter is my new favorite beer. I've been drinking that stuff like it's my job lately.

I've been drinking it like crazy. I've noticed that more and more places have it on tap all over Chicago. I really want to check out their brewery tour....their brewery is right around Lincoln and Montrose. I heard it's a good tour to go on.

Yeah i have a six pack of their ipa in the fridge and i'm convinced their dogtown pale ale is either my fav pale or second fav behind 3 floyds zombie dust

As for this one i really enjoyed it. I don't mind the coffee flavors in beer and i thought in this one it was present but not overpowering. I'm a sucker for stouts
