PLEASE NO SENIORITY FOR NEXT TOUR

2 reasons: First, think of the new fans to the band that'll jump onboard with the rerelease-- every new fan has very little chance of seeing the band up close. If I was a new fan, I'd be disappointed. That being said, I've loved the band since year 1, but my number is in the upper 300K. I only joined the club a few years ago because my ex-gf had a low number. After seeing Ed play solo at NJPAC last year, it was absolutely breathtaking to see my favorite singer only 13 rows back. It sucks that I will probably never see them so close again. No seniority worked well for the Ed solo shows, let's do it again for the whole band.

Damn - sorry you beat me to that one...can I delete my thread?0

to hell with the new "fans". i've been paying my dues for 13 years, slowly creeping closer and closer to the stage. I haven't gotten to the promised land yet, and I sure as hell don't want to be sitting behind some noob who just heard even flow on cold case.i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam0

Seniority rules!! That's why I signed up when I did.
Quit whining! Be glad you can still get tickets at a decent price.0 -
I think the way they had it last year was incredibly fair. My 10C number is over 300xxx, but I still think it's as equitable as it can be. Obviously I want to be as close as possible, but I understand that seniority certainly has its place and deserves some priority. I'm sure some of the members of the band notice when it's the same people in front every time, which his why having rows 1-2, and 9-10 be random was very equitable. That way, everyone has a chance (even it it's a small one, perhaps 10% of getting up front or closer), and those that have seniority still have excellent seats. I'm not really sure if there is a better way than what was devised for the '08 tour.Borgata II, Philly 05, ER 1 06, ER 2 06, Camden I 08, MSG I 08, MSG II 08, Mansfield II 08, EV 1 NYC, EV NJPAC

Seniority is the way it's been and the way it should remain. I've been paying my fanclub dues for nine straight years for this very reason. Changing the policy now would do nothing but undercut those who have been dedicated, paying members for many years. I've got a pretty decent number and I've never been in the front couple of rows. So the whole, "well it would give new fans a chance to get up front" argument is completely bogus. And I will say that the 2008 idea was a good one!Post edited by EBowie on0

I' been up the front, first row, ive been at the back, and i mean the back, last row in the areana, i do not care where i sit as long as I am in the building.
although I have let my 10C lapse and now have the crapiest numbers, let it laspe when i was youngeronce got stuck with 340XXX let it lapse again to 420XXX
if there is a lottery sweet if not oh wellArms wide open with the sea as my floor.0 -
I disagree, that is why they have the lottery and the presale. I have paid my 10c dues for a long time ot have good seats. Ther would be so many people joining just to get them and then would not renew the next year....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0

Great point!!! If seniority is eliminated then what's stopping people from joining at tour time and then ditching their memberships? I think it would create a whole lot of unnecessary bureaucracy for the Ten Club.0 -
here we go again...not sure if the old posts about this transferred, but if they did, no reason to start a new thread when this has been discussed ad nauseum.
Bottom line - seniority will not go away. it's that simple. get over it.Fighting childhood obesity...

But seriously...I understand that you've been paying your dues for 13 years, but let's be realistic here - I'm 19 years old. Thirteen years ago I was six. Not my fault - and I do consider myself a big fan of this band - not just "some noob who just heard even flow on cold case". There's no easy solution here because everyone, myself included, wants what's best for them; and what's best for people like me with numbers in the 357xxx, is worse for people like you who signed up 13 years ago.'05 - TO, '06 - TO 1, '08 - NYC 1 & 2, '09 - TO, Chi 1 & 2, '10 - Buffalo, NYC 1 & 2, '11 - TO 1 & 2, Hamilton, '13 - Buffalo, Brooklyn 1 & 2, '15 - Global Citizen, '16 - TO 1 & 2, Chi 2

Which is exactly why it should stay the same
I've got a better argument for why it should change:
Grand Rapids '06
After a few interviews where the band mentions feeling a bit weirded out about seeing the exact same people up front at every show, the seating "mysteriously" is decided totally at random. The result? The band, amped by the energy of all those incredibly excited, energetic, and appreciative fans up front, plays the most electrifying show of the tour.0 -

i have to admit i benefited from the re-distribution of 10C tickets at the '06 Grand Rapids concert - we sat front row, 4 seats off-center between Ed and Stone.
i support the current 10C seniority system, with the random lottery in place for rows 1-2 and 9-10,...To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."

How does joining the ten club at an earlier time logically justify getting better seats for each and every single show. Obviously younger fans are going to have joined later, there are some fans that were in dippers when Pearl jam first hit. So these people should be forever denied better seats???? Come on. Fans who sit in the back show after show should be given a better chance to get closer.0

As a long time fan 156XXX I have slowly moved up to be first 10-15 rows most shows. I never bitched that some were in the front..where is this coming from?? I'd rather go back to GA floor and fight for the front like in 1994/1995 than give up my seat cause you just discovered the band. I can accept a row 1/2 9/10 lotto..cause I might win or lose, but giving up senority is a bad idea.Bridge Benefit 1994, San Francisco 1995, San Diego 1995 1 & 2, Missoula 1998, Los Angeles 2000, San Diego 2000, Eddie Vedder/Beck 2/26/2002, Santa Barbara 2003, Irvine 2003, San Diego 2003, Vancouver 2005, Gorge 2005, San Diego 2006, Los Angeles 2006 1 & 2, Santa Barbara 2006, Eddie Vedder 4/10/08, Eddie Vedder 4/12/08, Eddie Vedder 4/15/08, 7/12/2008, SF 8/28/09, LA 9/30/09, LA 10/1/09, LA 10/06/09, LA 10/07/09, San Diego 10/09/09, Eddie Vedder 7/6/2011, Eddie Vedder 7/8/2011, PJ20 9/3/2011, PJ20 9/4/2011, Vancouver 9/25/2011, San Diego 11/21/13, LA 11/24/13, Ohana 9/25/21, Ohana 9/26/21, Ohana 10/1/21, EV 2/17/22, LA Forum 5/6/22, LA Forum 5/7/22, EV 10/1/22, EV 9/30/230

I'm a 106XXX, and I'd rather have GA again, as well... nothing like a pit to see who really belongs up front... problem is that lots of PJ fans don't understand the concept of GA... Fact is, when Lukin comes on, and some fans want to start a circle pit, you have some loser crying that "somebody is pushing me." STFU!
