It is analogous to season ticket holders for sports teams if you ask me. The longer you hold your tickets, the better your seats get. End of story.

Exactly, if I signed up for season tickets today and got 50 yard line 10rows up, you think someone who had been getting season tickets for 10, 20, or 30 years and still are in the upper deck would be OK with that?

Even though that is a valid argument, what about people like me who are 18 years old and have travel to halfway across the world to see the band and becuase we wern't around back in the day we can't get good seats. I like to think i'm pretty high up in the dedication ranks.

(or am i the only young one?)

I wonder if they could do some sort of point system, like where you live and what shows you have been to ETC

I know what you are saying and agree, but I have friends who have been on a wait list for season tickets for basketball and football. Is it their fault they were born later? No, but they understand they have to wait to move up like everyone else. The people ahead of them have the same argument. I think the system they have now is the best, they added the lottery for younger and newer fans while still rewarding the older fans for thier dedication.

  • don't try and compare season tickets to a fucking sports team to a band!! are you fucking crazy?!

first of all..if you're talking football..a football stadium holds anywhere from 50k to 80k people!! way more tickets/seats!! second..teams are guaranteed to play EVERY YEAR!!at least 10 home games in football(with pre-season) 41 games in basketball and 82 games in baseball!!every year! compared to a 2 night stay from PJ (if your lucky)every 2,3 or even 4 years..depending on where in the country you live.also sports teams are around forever!! 20 years from now you probably will still have an NFL team in your state...20 years from now PJ will be retired and gone (i hope...don't want to see no rolling stones type corpses on stage)

and like the kid said...why should he never have a chance to see his favorite band up close?...so the people who have seen PJ 40+ times(or much more for some of you old timers) up close..can keep doing so??

FUCK THAT! the lotto is cool and exciting and was a great idea that i hope they keep.

It is about seniority, not sports, like I said before, if I joined up for season tickets tomorrow and got 50 yard line, or home plate, or center court/ice seats over someone that had been dedicated for 10 years, you think that is fair? I don't, but I see the point of younger and newer fans, and I think the lottery is a great idea.

There's less seats than you think in football because teams like the Redskins, Packers, Giants, Steelers and Eagles have waiting lists for season ticket holders of 10-30 years just for the opportunity to buy tickets. I mean even the Lions have a 2 year waiting list to buy season tickets.

    seniority?????

It is what it is.....and to me it seems the best way to hand out the tickets....

I would love for every 17-21 year old kid who has just discovered the band, to be able to sit within the first 10 rows. But its just not going to happen.

I myself would have no problem if they made the first 20 rows part of a lottery system. But then you would have a bunch of fans screaming and yelling, because they have been in the 10club for 15 years and they are "entitled" to their front row seats. Limiting the amount of shows one could attend using 10club tickets would also be an option. But then again, you would have a bunch of fans who have been 10club members for 15 years, whining and crying, because they feel they are "entitled" to their front row seats.

I like the idea of limiting. When I joined in 98 you got to pick 1-2 shows to get 10c tickets to... I don't know when we became "entitled" to have primo seats to every single show on the tour.

I really feel sorry for the "kids".

The younger fans who have to realize their chances of ever seeing Pearl Jam within the first 10-15 rows are basically slim and none.

I do not feel sorry for some fan, who has seen Pearl Jam 80 times, when he says........."the lottery system is punishing me"

actually i cant say what i think of THAT fan....because i would soon be banned..........

With a 416XXX 10c number, I'm pretty happy with the current system. The fact that those with higher numbers get the chance to sit in row 1-2 and 9-10 is awesome. I wouldnt mind seeing the random lottery expanded to a few more rows like speedy mccready mentioned above. But that would lead to the usual shitstorm of complaints. I think the system they have now is as fair as it can be to everybody.

Just wondering....I havent used 10c tickets for an actual PJ show yet. Only one of the EV solo shows and got hooked up pretty nice. What type of tickets would I be looking at with a number as high as mine???

I've now benn in the 10cc for 12 years and not one time have I been in the front. Some first time members have tho. So I would love to have the chance to be in the front couple of rows at least one time. The closest I've been 6th row center in Missouls,MT in 03.

    And my number is 131xxx

At a venue with multiple dates it would be nice if one of the shows was random.

My .02, in case anyone cares.

Keep the seniority, unless they want a mass exodus of paying 10c members because I bet that is the only reason why a lot of them stick around.

I liked the lottery idea on the last tour. Even though I went to three 2008 shows and didn't win I knew people that did and they were very excited about it. I thought it was a neat way to mix it up.

Another idea I have liked and hasn't happened yet is this: When they play a two night stand in one city, make the 1st show completey seniority based and the 2nd show completely lottery, and I mean all rows not just 1-2 and 9-10. Do that everywhere you play two shows.

Or even have one of the shows where 10c members can but as many seats as they can sell before the rest go to the public

    Thanks Funny Girl! :)

BTW, I forgot to put in my last post that I think they should keep seniorty and the lottery (since it gives those of us with shitty seats the chance to move up) but how about expanding the lottery a few more rows?
You give an inch and they'll try to take a mile.

I think the two rows of lottery is more than fair, along with seniority for the rest of the fan club seating.

    seniority?????

The unlimited shows per membership concept came into practice in support of Fanch's fav album in 2003.

Yet more evidence that Riot Act was the downfall of this band ;)

With a 416XXX 10c number, I'm pretty happy with the current system. The fact that those with higher numbers get the chance to sit in row 1-2 and 9-10 is awesome. I wouldnt mind seeing the random lottery expanded to a few more rows like speedy mccready mentioned above. But that would lead to the usual shitstorm of complaints. I think the system they have now is as fair as it can be to everybody.

Just wondering....I havent used 10c tickets for an actual PJ show yet. Only one of the EV solo shows and got hooked up pretty nice. What type of tickets would I be looking at with a number as high as mine???
with your number.....you may be surprised....

you may get "wing seats"....on the side of the venue.....

that turn out to be kick ass seats!!!!

i have had "wing seats" in the 1st row a couple of times.......both on mikes side.....

even if you end up 10-20 rows up on the side......its still a great seat.............

Can back this up. Had wing seats about 15 rows up in Montreal. Some of the best seats I have ever had at 262xxx. Maybe the best.

My friend got wing seats at Ottawa during the Canadian tour and they were the coolest thing ever. They were in the penalty box just off the floor. The tickets actually said Row: Penalty Box. PJ needs to play more hockey arenas. ;)
