Yesterday I stepped between two students that were going to fight (gang rivalry). One was so angry at me for breaking up the fight, he stepped up in my face. Honestly thought at that moment that I was going to get my ass knocked out. I stood motionless returning his stare. Seemed like forever, but he finally backed down.
This morning, he greeted me with a huge smile and a handshake. No words needed to be exchanged. He knows I care, I know he's trying hard to change.
Good for you, that must have been scary.
It's funny because fear never entered my mind until like an hour later. In the moment, I just kept thinking that he's come so far this year and if he swings all that progress will be lost. This kid has such a good heart underneath the tough facade.

I had a rough day at work. We had this thunderstorm in my city all day going into next week. I had to go out side to save the chairs. The wind was so strong it was blowing chairs around. My hat blew off my head four times. I had to chase it. Then there was a larger gust of wind. It almost knocked me over. I couldn't move. A customer saw this, and he pulled my back inside. I gave him a free drink. I almost had a heart attack. But now it's funny.
