FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU LURIE AND BANNER IF THIS BDAWK RUMOR IS TRUE.I understand not paying j-trot that money before ,i understand lettn hugh walk,Ike resse to but to let Dawkins leave is a complete slap in the face. I'm so pissed off right now if this is true. I don't care if we sign or trade for god b-dawk should NEVER EVER WEAR ANOTHER JERSEY.
(on a random side note, Jeff Garcia works out at my gym, and shopped in the store that I work at. of course, i didn't see him either time, but i'd love to talk to him)
Dawkins hasn't tackled anyone with anything but his head for the last three years this is a good thing for you guys. His "leadership" was a joke...or at least didn't get you that far. Now he'll be John Lynch #2 for the Broncs. As for Garcia, he's kinda very good friends with my wife's Uncle, and he seems to think Garcia's done for what it's worth. Though he said that last year too.

that might be the most ridiclious statement i've ever heard. u apperantly didn't watch an eagles game last yr.

check out the last half of that video and explain to me how this video would be a demonstration of the most dangerous form of creating contact if you were to teach a young player to tackle - nearly every single play he's made in the last 3 years has been headfirst. Sure that leads to HUGE hits, but it's dangerous and technically against the rules - therefore B-Dawk, Weapon X, or whatever you want to call him is a cheap shot artist. As for claims that he was some sort of great leader how about you look at the 2008 Eagles as a tremendous waste of talent, and that they would have been pretty freakin' good with or without him. I'm telling you it may hurt losing someone you rooted for over the last decade, but getting rid of this joker will be good for you.
worst day in philadelphia sports free agency history...Dawk a Bronco? the Eagles should have their heads examined
that's a bit over the top... its a sad day but I can't necessarily argue with not matching a 5 year deal. It would be great to have Dawk but the team will move forward and new leaders will step up.

True, but the Eagles should have made a better initial offer than 1 year for mil with penalty clauses for games missed.
I would have been insulted to by that offer if I had done as much for the franchise as B Dawk.
I heard they offered him $5mil over 2yrs. He is definitely going to be missed if not just for his play but his leadership. You all know my feelings on the Eagles but even I know that Dawkins was the leader of this team more than anyone else.

According to Rueben Frank that was the counter offer after Dawkins told them about the Broncos offer.
Both offers the Eagles gave had a clause where he wouldn't be paid for games missed due to injury which I find ridiculous. I've never heard of a contract like that in football.

Oh, ok.....I was just reading the story on NBC10. I've heard about contracts like....but more along the lines as if the player played a certain percentage of plays there would be an escalation clause or something like that. Like I think Matt Ryan's deal this year he earned more because he played over a certain percentage of the plays this season...but never that a player wouldn't be paid for being hurt.....if that's the case, I don't blame him for taking the money...for a guy who gave that franchise everything he had, that's a crappy way to treat him.
During an appearance on NBC10's Sports Final, Adam Caplan of Sirius NFL Radio and PhiladelphiaEagles.com contributor said that the Eagles are interested in former Bills cornerback Jabari Greer. If the Eagles sign Greer, they could move Sheldon Brown and Arizona could be a potential destination

quite simply, you don't know what you are talking about.
the dude's a future hall of famer. nuff said.
however he is 36 year's old and will only get worse over the next year or two...
after hearing B-Dawks interview I am BEYOND pissed at this organization...FUCK THEM!
Don't buy any merch thats what me and my friends are gonna do. No buying tickets either it isn't much but it's our stand. And if many many others do the same thing maybe but doubtfully but maybe they will get the message. To let dawk leave really pisses me off and it will for a long time to come. Weapon X will be missed by all!!!!
Ah well...Just cause you hate the organization doesn't mean turn on your squad now boys. It's definitely gonna be weird, to say the least, when he comes into the Linc wearing a different jersey next season. Crazy. Anyway, as fucked as this situation got, I have a good feeling about something going to happen. Like this talk of signing Shawn Springs and including Sheldon Brown in a trade for Anquan Boldin. Things are not fucked here....we're all being very UnDude-like. Noooothing is fucked.
It's a business plain and simple.. does it suck?? hell yeah... should fans be happy about it?? hell no.. but its a business and a young man's game. B- Dawk is 36 years old and decided to sign with another team.. it's his perogative. He also could have decided to take less money and stay with the Eagles.

Yeah, seriously, what's this dubious dude talking about? Now, I wouldn't go as far as to say he's a Hall of Famer - only because there's only 4 in the Hall and the last I believe was Ronnie Lott? I could be wrong there. But man, what is this guy talking about? Dawkins was the predecessor for the molded types of Troy Palamalu. And I love this notion, that I've just recently picked up on, when it comes to the national label of Dawkins - a dirty player? Does he put his own body on the line by leading with his head? Sure. But anytime he does anything like that, you'll see he goes for the area where the player is holding the ball or any other part of the body - not the opponent's head. Rodney Harrison, Roy Williams, Adrian Wilson are dirty players, the dude who laid out Anquan Boldin. And overrated players like Bob Sanders get all the accolades. Sanders is nothing but an injury-prone/high risk-reward/looking for the highlight reel play kind of player. The equivalent of Asante Samuel in centerfield. Best SS's in the game are Palamalu and Ed Reed - good hands, range, and they throw their bodies around with reckless abandon to make a stop. And to say Dawkins is a dirty player is way off base. Dirty players are those who horse collar, intentionally go for helmet-to-helmet hits, throwing people down by their facemasks, and taking out knee caps. Everything else is football. The game WAS MADE to be dirty in every other sense of the word - i.e. punching people in the balls when in a scrum/pile-up, throwing forearms to the throat when blocking/running. You don't think Pro Bowl players at every position(lineman, rb, lb, db's) other than QB, and WR, bend the rules to accomodate for an advantage? That's the point of any sport - giving yourself the advantage. I'll take those guys on my team any day.

I understand it's a business but did dawk play well last year??? I know he isn't the same dawk, but tell me who will play safety for us that would be better then dawk. If they groomed a player and to take over for him and don't give me demps i could maybe sorta understand . don't tell me shawn springs who is 34 and got cut by washington is the anwser. there is talk about moving sheldon brown there but how many games has he played at safety????? The eagles showed dawk no respect so why would he show them respect. He has taken less money before to stay here and deserved to get a fair offer to stay here. Not will give u a 1 yr deal and if u play good enough it will escalate to a 2 yr deal thats bull shit if they signed him for 2yrs 7 mil dawk is still a bird instaed they offered a 1yr 3.5 mill deal. Thats a slap in the face anyway u look at it to a guy who has been the heart and soul and a high level player up till last yr.

Unless the Eagles spend up all the remaining money in their cap, not resigning Dawkins is a slap in the face to him and the fans who have followed him for years.
I mean the Eagles have lowballed Dawkins his entire career:
2000 2.37 mil
2001 2.27 mil
2002 2.1 mil
2003 3.6 mil
2004 2.5 mil
2005 2.8 mil
2006 3.6 mil
2007 1.5 mil
2008 2.3 mil
They always underpaid Dawkins throughout his career. And I don't blame him at all for finally wanting to get some "reward" pay with his last contract. It's just too bad it took another team to recognize how valuable he is as a leader even if his skills have diminished.

whether you consider that lowballed or not, dawk agreed to those contracts. nobody held a gun to his head. 2 of those contracts came after turning 30 also. and its 21 million dollars all together! i think we all need to take a step back and analyze what the birds end up doing this offseason, and then see dawk's performance on the field next year instead of rushing to judgment right now. i've heard people compare this to reggie white leaving. come on. seriously?! reggie left in the absolute prime of his career and the eagles did not even give him an offer. in this case, dawk is at the very end of his career, and we made a 2 year offer to him. apparently it was a couple million short of what he got in denver. if they really wanted him, sure they should have given him the extra couple mill or not even let it get to free agency alltogether. but you know what? as much as it hurts to think about right now, the eagles philosophy of letting a guy go perhaps a year early rather than a year late has clearly worked out more often then not in the 10 years of this regime with a couple exceptions here and there. its a cold way to do business, but it has worked for them.
so lets see what they do. lets see what the plan is. they have a ton of money to spend hopefully they actually do spend it via contract extensions in trades or some other free agents, draft etc etc etc. it does not look good right now. but its the first week of march. there's plenty of time for something to happen before next season rolls around. if we somehow end up with anquan boldin on our roster, a big back to compliment bwest in the backfield via the draft, and a few other items, i think most fans will take a step or two off the ledge...well some of them, maybe
Comments
but boldin now wants to stay in az...housh?
Boldn knows Arizona is asking too much...he has no choice but to play nice in fear they might not be able to trade him

You don't think Pro Bowl players at every position(lineman, rb, lb, db's) other than QB, and WR, bend the rules to accomodate for an advantage? That's the point of any sport - giving yourself the advantage. I'll take those guys on my team any day.
