1st game today. They're having the same problems in the red zone as in the past. But winning so far.

A win's a win, how nice was the interception by Webster. He must have learned that move of staying in bounds from Toomer.

yea the D was nice! even though they gave up some bs points they got better as the game went on. once they get a better feel for the D they can be rediculous. hopefully they open the play book more against dallas and blitz more.

Not being able to score at the red zone almost cost the Giants the game. But Eli shows he's the better QB.

Great game last night. Turnovers made all the difference. I would worry about that run defense if I were though.

Who would have thought the Giants and Cowboys would end with 0 sacks?

BIG BLUE!! BIG BLUE!! BIG BLUE!!

Tuck says hes hurting but okay and going to play next week. Flozell Adams is a cheap fuck and it was outstanding to shut up Jerry Jones and his 104,000 fans.

    Great win!
  • Great game. Not pretty but still a win in D under those conditions. I'll take it any day.
& I'm loving this Manning to Manningham! Very impressed by #82. Great ball awareness. Same with Smith.

    1. It's apparent that Tony Romo will never be as good as Eli Manning

    2. Flozell is a cheap Fuck.

    3. Have you ever heard 105 thousand people go sp quiet so fast?

    4. Steve Smith now leads the NFL in receptions

    5. Need to improve out Red Zone offense

    6. Kenny Phillips and Corey Webster are rising stars and we may have found one more in super Mario

    P.S.

    May I?

    1. Still to early to tell that. We all thought Eli sucked until he finally won one. Right now you are right though, I will give you all that.
    2. We hate him too. Most penalized player in the NFL since 2007. You want him?
    3. No.
    4. Insane.
    5. True, and your run defense. Without the turnovers by Jeckle and Hyde Romo, right now you would be griping about how Jones and Barber ripped the defense.
    6. Mario had a good day against the very overrated Terrance Newman.

How about them Giants? The Cowboys played like absolute shit (especially Romo and the Dallas pass rush) and it still took some lucky bounces (off Wittens foot) and a last second field goal to win.

    Anyway, congrats.

In all fairness most of the big runs were after Tuck left the game and they were to the side he would have been on. Mathias Kiwanuka is a bit too agressive a lot of the time. I think their run D will be fine. Red zone problem has to be fixed though.

Eli Manning is not good, he should have hung a few more points on us and was a few inches away from 2 pick 6's himself. Anyway, aside from the flukey last year (romo out, and then plax), since Romo has been a starter why is it that the team that seems to dominate Cowboy-GMen games loses. We win in his first start against the Giants when someone misses and easy pick 6 and then he later hits Whitten for like a 50 yard bomb to set up the game winner. In early 07 G-men up 7-0 and Eli barely overthrows Plax by half a a foot, then miss a FG, and Cowboys win. Later that year Romo makes his stupid duck under every and find a wide open TE play and Cowboys win. Then in the playoffs the Cowboys dominate for 2 1/2 qtrs and find a way to lose, then last night after the Adams cheap shot on Tuck (there I admitted it are you all happy), the cowboys average 8.5 yards per carry and the Giants somehow win...it's always weird between these two.

12 4th quarter come from behind wins in his career. Just sayin.
  • I'm not terribly concerned with the run defense. After Romo's big game last week I'm sure that stopping the pass was a large area of concentration.

You forgot Super Bowl MVP who beat Dallas in Dallas on his way to the big game. As of 2009 Eli > Romo and its not even close.

I wasn't saying Romo was better, I'm just saying Eli is not good. Everyone knows him winning the MVP was retarded he made two good passes, benefitted from two dropped picks, and got help with several lucky catches (don't forget Toomer's ridiculousness on the sideline earlier in the game). Secondly, 4th quarter comebacks are overrated anyway, they are a mixture of luck, good defense, and good blocking, as well as occassional good play. Moreover, you don't need 4th qtr comebacks if you don't put your team in bad positions in the first place - like Eli last night. If you could punch a ball in the endzone you win that game by 20, and then he doesn't get another number on that dumb stat.

BUT If you wanna play that game Tony Romo was the best QB in the 4th quarter all of last year...but we all know he's not always that good in the clutch. Anyway wait till Eli is perfecting his 12 step drop later this year when all the games your O-line has played together injury-free starts to see that catch up to them.
  • I love all the Eli sucks / Eli's not good bs. It'll always exist no matter what he does/how much he wins, which is fine.
Strahan said it great yesterday,....."he looks like a little school boy but in actuality has developed into a leader of men who will kick your ass." I think his image will always allow the ignorant redicule he receives. Keep saying all you want, I'll keep taking the big games wins and will keep shining my super bowl mvp photo hanging in my living room.

Alright buddy, you keep trying to convince everyone that Eli is not good while he keeps winning. Good luck with that. I guess I will have to put up with a terrible QB that just wins games and a Superbowl.
  • RW81233RW81233 Posts: 2,393
So once you win a Super Bowl you are automatically awesome? Even when you win that Super Bowl largely on luck, GREAT Defense, and the overconfidence of your opponent? I guess that makes Eli, Jeff Hostetler, and Mark Rypien better QBs than Jim Kelly and Dan Marino...seems logical to me.

Never said he was better than Kelly or Marino. This is a lost cause.

I will take Eli who just seems to win games over the past few years. Doesn't have to be pretty but he gets it done and his entire team knows how good he is. In the end winning and having the confidence of your team is all that really counts.

No one here said he was a legend like Marino and Kelly.

As for the Super Bowl he did what very few QBs can claim they did. He took his team down the field in a two minute drill down by more than a FG and scored for the win and the Championship. Regardless of how much the defense made Brady their bitch that day, or how much TC out coached BeliCHEAT, Eli still had to step up with the whole world watching and he did. NOT TO MENTION the game he played in the NFC championship. 254 and no picks in the one of the coldest games in the history of the league.

He has proven to be a leader, a winner, and better in the clutch than just about anyone in the current NFL.
