Just like I thought - this season will end like 2005, and of course at the hands of the Astros. If they split they would be 3 back, and if they took 3 out of 4 they'd be 2 back and right in it. Ah well, I'm still going to the game on Tuesday for my 30th.

Why is everyone giving Larry a gift? Wasn't sucking as a team from 94-2006 gift enough? Hey Larry, as a phillies fan I just like to say FUCK YOU.

Even though you're a good player and I respect your game.

Yeah I couldn't give two fucks about his retirement. The best gift we gave him was knocking their lame-ass team out of the playoffs last year (which in turn got us knocked out, as I semi-predicted).

    300 career home runs 8-)

2nd fastest in the HISTORY of the game to get to 300 career home runs. pretty darn impressive. only in philadelphia would fans constantly criticize a player with such credentials. gotta love this town

ralph kiner was 1st in 6 less games than ryan.

andy ryan is a career .272 hitter and has a higher career average, slugging and ops than the greatest phillie of all time michael jack schmidt.

2nd base is far and away the easiest position in Baseball.

    major fail

What the heck is easier than 2nd base? Some would argue 1st base but Utley sure isn't gonna be playing there. And you have to deal with fielding tough throws from SS/3B. I dunno, I played 2nd base in high school and it was a cakewalk. A THOUSAND TIMES EASIER than shortstop or outfield.

And what the heck is this "major fail" bullshit? Agree, disagree, or whatever. But fucking elaborate.

any position up the middle is difficult. 1b, 3b, LF, RF are all much easier than 2B. Think about what a 2nd baseman has to do

1 - run into the OF to take relay throws
2 - sprint for balls down the RF foul line (especially when there's a whale playing 1B)
3 - turn the pivot on DPs...2B is conisdered much more difficult than SS doing this because your back is always turned to the runner...ie, you can't see him coming most of the time so there is a better chance of him getting into your shins/ankles
4 - you have to occasionally cover first base

second base is not easy. I played OF in high school (mostly center, but I also played the corners as an underclassman)...OF is a cakewalk. Anyone can play the corner spots. Well, except for dom brown

Just like I thought - this season will end like 2005, and of course at the hands of the Astros. If they split they would be 3 back, and if they took 3 out of 4 they'd be 2 back and right in it. Ah well, I'm still going to the game on Tuesday for my 30th.

    30???

    man, you're getting old
