Dude, I completely agree. Feel like the flyers have given us the most parade teases at this point in our lifetimes, so their parade would also be the most gratifying in a 'they finally did it' sorta way.

Also the Flyers somehow became a likable team last year with the leadership transitioning from Richards/Carter to Giroux.

This is really a HUGE week in Phila sports coming up. Big ramifications for these two franchises.

good point. I never really thought of it that way, but you're absolutely right.

Made it to Eulogy on Thursday night. Loved the beer selection, but the crowd in there couldn't have been worse. Bunch of beer nerds. When I ask about a specific beer I don't want the bartender to make me feel like it's the first beer I have ever had, I just want him to answer my question.

So hipster beer drinkers are now on the top of my shit list (right below amaro and vick) Fucking dorks

I went with this because it had the coolest name...and was on tap. Delicious.

Only two words you need to know about Belgian beer: "La Chouffe"

    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/321/1836

Some people in Brugge introduced this to my wife and I when we were there and we all trashed Prez W (who was actually in Belgium at the time) together - good times! :D I was thrilled to see it in Monk's about a year later and now it's available in many places around here.

Eulogy is ok I guess - kind of always packed in there.

I'm going to Village Whiskey after the Phils game Wed and to Melograno with my parents on Sunday.

I got to meet the brewmaster of La Chouffe at Eulogy - dude was a fat fucking creep. But I guess he should be when he's a millionaire who does nothing but eats and drinks for a living.

Not sure how a brewmaster could possibly avoid being fat...

Too bad he was a creep.

Well, wasn't a creep to me exactly. But he was definitely trying to manhandle every woman around him....as they all had the look of "oh shit, I think I may be raped" on their faces.

La Chouffe did a collab with Ommegang at the time called, "Gnomegang". That shit was good.

 actually missed this, was watching something else, but good to hear. Did Halladay look as bad as the box score indicate?

I didn't see him pitch after the 1st inning but if Pence didn't misplay a flyball, he wouldnb't have given up the 1st 2 runs.
    Alright, alright, alright!

In the words of those Asian dudes in Major League......They're still shitty.

I need more than this to think this team has any substance.

Hamels talks entering "sensitive" phase, whatever that means.

Either way, let's get some good value in return for Blanton, Victorino & Polanco. I'm sure Mr. Stanford will fuck this up.

I think you could get something of value for Blanton if you eat the contract, same with Polanco. Seems like they're holding onto Shane for a king's ransom. I know this sounds crazy, but I wouldn't mind bringing Shane back on a one-year arbitration deal. This slump year might be a good thing for the Phils. I think it helps them keep a decent player like Victorino on the roster next year on a contract with value instead of going out and splurging on someone like Hamilton.

Their biggest trade chip - outside of Hamels, of course - is Pence. That's who they need to move.

Nothing incredibly grounbreaking aside from the offer....

Exec from outside team said heard #Phillies at least floated 6-$140M, Hamels still not said yes, which increases likelihood LH gets traded

Maybe #Phillies trying so hard to keep Hamels tied to Halladay. Scout at Doc's start yest (6R/6IP) said arm strength still not there (cont)

"(Halladay's) stuff not close to what used to be." Said not prime hard, late movement down in zone instead lateral easier to hit

As long as stays healthy, Hamels knows poorly kept industry secret: #Dodgers will play big to bring home to SoCal, maybe make

highest-paid P ever. 1 exec said Hamels so close to potential payday, why not wait, Plus SoCal offers potential off-field star possibilities
