CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Yankees have "talked to the Phillies" about Shane Victorino.
The asking price is "too high" at the moment, Heyman has been told, but that could change as the July 31 trade deadline draws closer. Victorino, 31, is batting .245/.311/.379 with eight home runs, 19 stolen bases and 38 RBI in 89 games this season. He's set to hit the free agent market five days after the 2012 World Series.
Turrible. I would love Upton. I'd settle for Victorino if he could be had for a middle of the road prospect, someone line Romine or along those lines, but I wouldn't give up much for a rental, especially a shitty rental.0 -

think i'd rather see them deal pence instead. you'd probably get a decent amount more for him.
how's it going guys?

Same here - my first MMJ show coming up. Can't wait!
I love the Mann too - great venue, easy to get to (about 15 minutes from my house), good beer, great sound, place is just awesome!
Only 10 games out of 2nd Wild Card!Welcome back Doc.
Why is Blanton the only one who ever pitches 8 to 9 innings? :?Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

RAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL.
I'm going to try and make that show too. Found out the Mann runs a Septa shuttle to and from Center City for shows. Perfect for me. Haven't been there yet, cool place? Think most everyone from this thread is going to be there.0 -

blanton's start was huge last night. he pitched really well (albeit against a terrible lineup). if he can string together another decent start or two, they may be able to trade him. The return would be minimal, but at this point it is a minor miracle if they get anything for him.
Then again, there is the amaro effect
Also, Dom Brown was finally activated off the DL yesterday. Get rid of pierre, pence, and victorino and let him play every day. Gotta see what they have with him. Now is the time to do it without the pressure of a pennant race0 -
