And apparently he looked worse in left. I'd actually try him out in center - just for my own crazy reasonings.

Something about his lefthandedness looked really weird in RF. I don't know.

Enjoy the show. It's something like "A Nightmare in Right Field".

One comment I read said that it was 12 years too late for Hunter Pence to play outfield in Candlestick Park.

Other thing I read said Pence is a marginal offensive upgrade for the Giants, offset by his poorer defense. Think the Dodgers will be more helped by the Victorino acquisition.

    Enjoy!

I have no doubt pence's so-called "power" will disappear at at&t park. it ain't a bandbox like cbp or enron.

that said, I don't see the addition of victorino as much to worry about.

your shitty season may turn out to be a blessing in disguise....get some prospects, play some young guys, etc.

wait until pence misreads a routine fly ball in the playoffs. inevitability can be fun. unless is the realization is that certain contracts suck (funny here) and your GM is completely inept (not funny here). wait, neither scenario is funny.

    good times!!

where are the pom pom wavers that popped up after the sweep of penco tech of the blind?? shit, those wins didn't mean anything??

like I said when trade went down...big schierholtz fan. solid all around player. best case - jayson werth ...worst case - jim eisenreich. good and good.

now trade the big pear. he is so fat and so shitty. and so overpaid

So in the 3rd or 4th when the Nats scored their 2nd and 3rd runs did anyone see the errors by Chase and Jimmy that the official scorers called hits? But the ball Wiggy hit to Zim was an error, wtf?
    Alright, alright, alright!

    Homefield advantage.

And, by the way, people in this town really are idiots. Apparently they've never heard of a trade waiver before, let alone know how one works.

what is it? and why did the phillies do it ?

what is it? and why did the phillies do it ?

Because 100% of the teams in the league put about 90% of their MLB roster on trade waivers. If for no other reason but to keep those player available to see what kind of interest said players garner in a possible trade, even though the regular trade deadline has passed. You can bet that probably all 25 players for the Yanks were places on trade waivers too - the thing is, usually, that info doesn't get out.

The way it works is you place a player - say Cliff Lee - on trade waivers.(Now forgive me, I might be slightly wrong on some of the details) Lee then becomes available on trade waivers, meaning anyone - starting with worst record in the NL and then in the AL - have a chance to claim Lee, therefore picking up his salary too. But, Philly can pull him off waivers at any point. If no one claims Lee, then the Phils can trade him to who ever. I'm probably slightly off on my explanation.

yea but then the phils took a chance at losing him if thats the case? i think

Nah, if a team claims him, they(Phils) can always pull him back off waivers. Only way they let him go is if they want to just shed his salary by letting him go. But they won't do that. But then again, I don't doubt Amaro's lack of intellect.

    That's pretty much my understanding.

If a team claims him, the Phillies can 1- pull him back from waivers, 2- negotiate a trade with that team, or 3- let that team have him and his full salary. Sometimes teams claim players just to keep another team above them in the standings from getting the player. It's really just a technical thing that teams do. If they wanted to trade him they probably would've done so by July 31.

For a player to be named and cash. Were under the Luxury tax already, so i hope we get someone with upside.

Even if we get cash I'm alright with that. Roseberg is up; I'd rather see Cloyd pitch.

MLBTR has Cliff Lee claimed on waivers. But it's missing two more words and an elipsis: "...no shit."

Heard a radio ad for the Labor Day Festival this afternoon. Not one mention of Pearl Jam. Named a bunch of hip hop acts though.

Looks like we should be prepared for a bunch of turds in saggy jean shorts and wifebeaters at this thing.

Fuck all the Made In America hate. Pearl Jam at what I would imagine is going to be a sweet outdoor venue in front of the Art Museum steps on Labor Day weekend in Philly, FUCK AND YES. Jay Z Saturday night, boom...Pearl Jam Sunday night, boom.....Bruce Monday night....Boom.

Rooftop, festival, out and about in the city, rooftop, perhaps Bishops Collar or some other awesome bar in the city, festival, out and about in the city, tailgate all day, citizens bank park, sleep and recover all day Tuesday....Oh.Fuck.Yes!

I could give two shits about what the crowd is like, I'm going to have a fucking great time. And either way, the crowd won't be that bad when the Rick Ross crew is the most hardcore hip hop act there.

I saw the prices. I can't see myself paying that much for an abbreviated PJ set. If they come down in price I will reconsider, but I am leaning towards GA. Then lots and lots of beers
