thank you for proving my point about yourself. you'd rather focus on the 7% of the teams outs that Ryan made as opposed to the 100% of the runs he produced. as i said last week in the flyers thread, do you wake up on sunny days (like the last 3 days) and bemoan that it is too bright outside?

His Def has been superb this year his range has been impressive. You sound like a guy who has a personal problem against the dude. You remember a pump throw play or strike out but can't give credit for his impressive range this year and Def or Solid stats with no 3 or 5 hitter for most of the season.

ah but ignore the fact that there wouldn't have been an '09 series without his NLCS. you know you can pick out at-bats of every player in the major leagues. everyone has bad at-bats and fails more often than not. ah but no one in 6 years has driven in more game-tying or game-leading runs than ryan. must be a hell of a 6-year lucky stretch.

my point has always been that the guy's best days are behind him. you don't give a guy a $125 million dollar contract 2 years before you have to. especially when you're getting diminishing returns on the deal.

the guy is flat out overrated and his contract is the worst thing in sports. sure would be nice to have that money to throw at pujols this offseason wouldn't it?

but what the heck does that have to do with this season and last nights game? just because he is going to make $25 million next year doesn't diminish is value or ability to this team NOW. live in the moment Fixer. No one's tomorrow is guaranteed so let's not worry about it just yet. We got a great team, best record in baseball, great pitching staff, sun is shining, smile and lighten up and stop taking ryan howard's contract and performance personally.

and there is absolutely no chance albert pujuls would sign here for less than $35 million a year. someone is going to have to serioulsy overpay for Albert Pujols (like the Nats did with Werth) to get him out of St. Louis and no way St. Louis doesn't make a huge offer. not happening. Albert will be in St. Louis for another 5 years at least.

The point is Heyman said it was worth it based on 29 games and used RBIs as an argument when as the article states

Howard has had 111 runners on base for his 125 plate appearances. No other NL hitter has had more than 96. Howard is hitting .266 with an .851 OPS with runners on, which is hardly anything special.

day off and then we get chooch back for the bravos series...which is huge as schneids got hurt tonight.
