This series is reminiscent of the 3 game sweep you guys had of the Reds last year. Deeper teams usually win in tight games, even when the loser had plenty of chances to win. Gotta get a win tomorrow.

let the brew crew have one today. I want your boys to take out the d-bags in the NLDS. Braves could probably do it too...but the phils are a lock. right? :shifty:

only scary thing about playing the Brewers in the playoffs would be that Braun and Fielder couldn't be as bad as they were in this 4 game set. Only one big hit and that was Braun's yesterday after he was stuck out by not called on the previous pitch. Fielder was brutal all weekend.

Braves choking and in some trouble.

division and home field will be wrapped up by next weekend. 5 straight - wow.

Sorry - nothing about that team scares me. Including Greinke.

if this machine of a team doesn't steamroll through the playoffs, it will be joe carter/tampa bay/carolina/arizona/sf giants all rolled into 1.

they are immensly more talented than the rest of this league....my only concern is with clinching so early, they lose their momentum heading into october. same kind of thing happened last year.

This will easily be the biggest disappointment if they don't win it all. Even bigger than the fucking Joe Jurevicious game.

i think it would be worse than that game too. the season isn't over obviously...but up to this point you can at least make the argument that this is the best overal team not only phillies history but in this city's history, all sports. and, as we've seen these past couple weeks, the competition for next month is not even close to the talent level of the phils. not getting to the ws would be crushing...

And every other team (esp in the NL) seems to be crumbling at the seams. Brewers can't beat any good teams. Braves pitching is falling apart. D-Bags are winning - whatever. That sounds like a team that would beat a great Phila. team - the fucking Arizona Diamondbacks. I can just see it now. I'm already pissed about it.

i wonder what the phillies record is now, with a greater sample size of course ;) , against teams with a winning record?

Any of you guys going to the Penn State-Temple game this weekend? Going to have a pretty big tailgate if you want to stop by and have a beer.

I'm going. 28-game losing streak. Time to put that to an end. 8-)

Anybody else annoyed by Oswalt blaming the defense for yesterday's game? Part of the bad defense was that he couldn't catch the ball to complete a 3-6-1 double play. And nobody else left an 0-2 curveball hanging like a picture for Carlos Lee.

Nice, we'll be getting down there around 9 or so to tailgate and have a pretty good size group going. Will most likely be in the Wachovia Center lot. Will also be tailgating after. Like I said, stop by for a beer and some food if you are going to be around before.

That would be quite the embarrassing loss for Penn State.

having any 84 year old coach is embarrassing. i'm sorry the guy is a legend and one of the greatest of all time but you can't tell me he looked good or even 100% aware of where he was on saturday in the press box. it's time for Joe to be done. and i don't think he will ever retire so somone needs to step up and push him to the side - before he dies on the sideline.

as for oswalt - yea not sure where that is coming from although michael martinez does bother me at times. he's seems awfully non-chalent and kind of cocky for a guy hitting .205. either way not a surprise they lost last night. no juice in the ballpark and myers was on. still clinch by the end of the weekend.

i saw where they are saying jurrjens is out for year for the braves. them and the red sox choking it up. man it would be great to see the sawx blow it.
