I thought it was well done. If people want to think HRs and RBIs don't mean anything I can't do anything to convince them otherwise.

One thing I take from tha article is that, as far as Howard being better in the clutch, is that sometimes his concentration slips. Or you can just watch him to realize that.

Sadly the contract is why he'll never get the respect he deserves. I can't wait for a certain person reaction to it.

Oh no Tony Bruno...now you can't even blame the national media, because, well, he is the national media (as in, has worked for ESPN, Sporting News, Content Factory, and, of course, Fox Sports). I know he sucks, and I know you all probably don't (admit to) listen to him (someone is b/c he's always on the radio), but that was a little perfect re: last week's convo no? Maybe this is what happens when you mix one part Philly with one part Fox News Corp?

I think he called the Giants pitcher who threw at Victorino an illegal alien. So of course it's Philly's fault, right? Here we go again.

Bruno was the voice of madden for years. When u went into look at stats and stuff during a season between weeks. He also was a local sports talk guy for years and now has a national show on 97.5. He's from Philly but i think he lives out in LA now. Fuck the Giants!!!!!!

    1. Tim Lincecum snapped the Phillies' nine-game winning streak on Sunday, but what a roll the Phillies have been on. With a 74-40 record, they're on pace for 105 wins and ESPN Stats & Info reports that Accuscore's simulation of 10,000 seasons gives the Phillies a 22 percent chance of winning 108 games. Why is that significant? Only two NL teams have won 108 games since 1910 -- the legendary 1975 Cincinnati Reds and almost-as-legendary 1986 New York Mets, both of whom won 108. With a 3.06 team ERA, the Phillies have a shot to become the first team since the 1989 Dodgers to finish under 3.00. We'll wait a few weeks before comparing the Phillies to other great clubs, but it's worth noting that the '86 Mets finished first in the NL in runs and second in runs allowed; the '75 Reds were first in runs, third in runs allowed. The Phillies are first in runs allowed, but seventh in runs scored.

Meant to see if you guys saw that one of the Seals that died went to North Catholic, 25 years old, damn. 99% of my friends from this area are from Fishtown and went to North, brutal.

Terrible, just read about him on Philly.com, seems like a great kid. Will be curious to hear if I have any friends that know him or his family.

Maybe I should have given the winky eye...I was more kidding than anything. Yeah he basically tweeted that Bochy was an ass for having the "illegal alien" throw at the Flyin' guy. Bochy called him a racist. He's from Philly, and while he may be based out of Cali, he does Philly radio. Calling him a Californian would be akin to calling Bill Simmons the same thing. It was just ironic that you were all pounding on the national media for picking on you guys and then a Philly national media guy screwed up. Thanks again for beating the Giants 3 of 4. Now if the Braves could just fall apart the world would be a better place.

another title and this team's run over the last few years will go down as one of the national leagues all time greats.

just another title. that's all we need.

think i read yesterday that if they go just .500 rest of way, they'll finish with 98 wins. pretty crazy.

The whole discussion was about fans, not "Philly media guys," whoever they are. Whatever, I don't give a shit.

Your team just has to beat the whiny Cardinals and you don't have to worry about the Giants or Braves or anyone else. Just about getting spanked by the Phils in the 1st round again. 8-)

Oops - hadn't looked at the standings for a while. Yeah, looks like it'd be Phillies vs. Giants if the season ended today. I'd also be getting some refunds for tickets for games not played, hopefully.

    that blows.

i listened to seth everett's show on saturday on the way into work. he had a former player on who worked in the commisioner's office and dealt with suspensions after he retired. can't remember his name but he had an interesting take. he said vic made it worse by just walking around yelling at the pitcher. he said if he thought he was hit on purpose to just make a decision. either charge the mound or take 1st. lingering and kind of waiting for his teamates to hop onto the field only increases the risk of injuries and more suspensions. probably the reason why it's 3 games and not less.

brawl... i still don't think i saw any punches thrown.
