Probably haven't seen this one since 1995. When it was semi-new.

Still pretty funny. And being it features my home state, it was nice to see the mounds of snow and iced over lakes. That is right around the corner and I'm pumped for it.
  • Drinking Buddies.

Once I got into it and past the way it's made, it was pretty good.

The movie is completely improvised and it lacks an overall story arch or even the little bit of narration. No music too, other than when the characters spin some vinyl.

But otherwise, pretty solid, interesting movie. We've probably all been in the situation before and can relate to it. I know I can.

That was improv? I had no idea. Explains a few scenes though.

Catching fire, the new hunger games movie. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm looking forward to the 3rd one.

    Homefront with Jason Statham.

    He's so dreamy.

Also, this is a Sylvester Stallone film, which I did not know going to into it, but which explains a lot.

Finally saw Gravity. Loved it - really makes you sort of want to vomit though (if you've seen it you know what I mean).

Still kind of afraid to see it. :? Seems like it would cause an anxiety attack.

Watched World War Z last night. Pretty good though the feeling felt a bit tacked on.

My lady says those two movies represent her two greatest fears, zombies and flying aimlessly in space, so she will not see them.

i don't understand this fascination everyone has with zombies though. it's all the same story for the most part.

    The Worlds End

I haven't been that disappointed in a film I had high expectations for since I saw Looper. :(
  • Watched the Life of Pi. Very good movie. Visually, probably among my favorite movies ever. Great story and character development. I recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.

    Finally watched West of Memphis.

Those motherfuckers running the show down there man - this movie really pissed me off (and made me cry at the end) .... Not to mention that c*nt of a jury member who still won't admit that they didn't do it. :fp:

Yeah, that's a great movie!! I didn't know how they'd be able to pull it off, having already read and enjoyed the book, but they did a fantastic job - way better than I expected it to be. :)

snow day yesterday, my oldest son was with me, so as I was working he had on:

    "Movie 43" - absolutely terrible

"Dredd" - lots of blowing stuff up

"Rosemary's Baby" - was ok, but by today's standards pretty dull.

Man of Steel- finally. It was good. Ridiculous amount of destruction at the end, but it did the job.

Just saw "Into the White" two nights in a row. Great movie based on a true story about two surviving crews- one German, One British- who must work together to survive and discover they are not so different from each other. I really really really liked this movie!
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Yes, this guy Christopher Nolan can create some new approach to old heros.
I'm hearing he will ultimately come up with a project, combining Batman and Superman together.
