  • Bohemian Rhapsody - I mostly enjoyed it, though I can see why it's getting mixed reviews.  On the one hand, I think the casting was superb, Rami Malek in particular, was spot on, but I think this was going to be an impossible film to get 'right'.  The truth is that Freddie Mercury was a very troubled character, and with the high highs came the really low lows.  Trying to capture that, yet still deliver an uplifting film to match the general public's view of him as a rock god was a very difficult task.

    Extinction

It wasn't too bad, and I didn't find it predictable. Definitely not great either. It just could have been worse. I do like Michael Pena.

    The Stuff (1985)
Oddly enjoyable for a terrible, campy, sexist, 80s budget quasi-creature feature. Michael Moriarty did a bizarrely good job in this IMO - there was something weirdly appealing about his performance.

Victoria and Abdul (2017).  Wasn't sure if I'd like this one or not.  I did!  I thought it was great.  Nicely done, some interesting history.  Likely will see this one again sometime.

I enjoyed it, Rami Malek’s portrayel of Freddie was very believable. Mike Myers makes some classic faces in his small role as a record exec... seamed full circle him playing this role as the song Bohemian Rhapsody was a huge part of Wayne’s World.

If you're any sort of fan of Queen in general and Freddy in particular you should see it.
Not a great movie by any means but Rami Malek as Freddy was perfect casting.
And as someone who loved Freddy and Queen and was at Liveaid London I highly recommend it.

A few nights ago I watched Jigsaw and it was horrible.  They should have let that franchise die.
