Good flick, I saw the "twist" coming from a mile away though...

Yeah, I picked it up pretty early, but it didn't diminish the enjoyment though

    Pillow Talk (1964)

There was a Harry Potter Marathon this past long weekend and I got caught up in it.  I’m not a huge fan of the movies, (the SFX in my brain are way better), but I love the books.  I haven’t watched them since their original release dates.  All-in-all, I think that they hold up pretty well. Although, I still feel that there were pacing problems and definitely too many long pauses in the dialogue which was my major bugbear.   It’s amazing watching the kids grow up all in one weekend lol

Took my 10 year old daughter on The Goonies experience.

I myself forgot just how good this film is. She loved it, a critic by nature so high praise indeed.

Cory Feldman going the interpreting for the nanny at the beginning is pure gold, at 38 I feel like I only got the joke. I really don't remember that when I watched it first time over 20 years ago.

This was one of my favorites as a kid, I watched it so many times I wore more than one VHS out and could quote the entire film start to finish.  Such a classic.

Deadpool 2 - liked it, but didn't have the freshness of the first one. Certainly worth watching though

Two very different sides of a fine actor.  Nice picks.  I loved The Last Movie Star.

Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

  • Better than I expected, but nothing groundbreaking as far as horror films go. Not a bad take on the creepy kid sub-genre but it’s certainly no The Omen either. The little girl delivers an excellent performance though, setting up a pretty eerie environment for the first half hour or so of the film.

Finally picked this one up, second time viewing (first time at home) still holds up as one of my favourites of the year so far...

Pretty heavy at times, but a really good movie. Thought McConaughey and Leto gave fantastic performances.

  • Bladerunner 2049 - excellent successor to the original, I thought.

War For The Planet Of The Apes - decent wrap-up for the new series, but I think I ultimately enjoyed Rise the most of the 3.

Mad Max: Fury Road (Black and Chrome edition).  May have been better in black and chrome than it was in color.
