    Eeeek

    4 in a row !

Hopefully Tampa will be the cure !

No energy in the team right now, they need a shake-up

I don't see energy as being the problem. The problem is turnovers especially in our defensive zone and not being able to clear the puck. I mean hell just ice it to relieve some pressure. Yeah I know you can't change lines but its a better option than try to clear the puck 4 times and having the other team just control the play and pressure you over and over.

Also I was kinda disappointed that the Flyers didn't try chipping the puck into the corners more last night, rather than throwing it around the boards and allowing DP to stop it or play it out of the zone.

I flipped to the game a few times and saw the breakaway goal by Bergenheim. That was a brutal turnover by Carter letting that thing go just inside the blue line.

That's the way things have been going lately. I still think it the puck wasn't rolling that Nitty would have made the save. That shot just fluttered because it was on edge. And I agree with what Briere said last night, that they are mostly a team of stickhandlers and stuff like that happens because of it. But you have to be able to get a puck deep in this league and be able to gain control along the boards. That is something the Flyers have lacked in the offensive and defensive zones this year.

The defensive turnovers have been horrible, that one by Smith was terrible

The whole complexion of the game changes if Richie can bury that shorthanded breakaway

Looked like the puck rolled on him as he went to shoot it

After Ottawa's game (I hope you beat them) maybe you'll get back on track.
As for Habs attendee's, the loyal Bleu, Blanc et Rouge are making good appearances at almost all road games this year.

Flyers to get look at top prospect Giroux

When the Flyers try to snap a seven-game losing streak tonight in Ottawa, fans will get their first look at top prospect Claude Giroux.

Unfortunately, it will be just a glimpse.

The Flyers recalled the talented 20-year-old right wing on Monday and he'll make his NHL debut tonight against the Senators as an emergency injury recall.

According to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren, once an NHL team falls under 12 healthy forwards -- and the Flyers dropped below that number with injuries to Joffrey Lupul (right high ankle sprain), Simon Gagne (concussion), Steve Downie (concussion) and Denis Tolpeko (concussion) -- it can recall a player under contract from his junior team.

Because of an agreement between the NHL and Canada's major junior leagues, Giroux can remain with the Flyers only if there are no other players to take his place and his recall does not conflict with his junior team's schedule.

Giroux currently leads the Quebec League with 33 goals and 55 assists for 88 points in 47 games with the Gatineau Olympiques. He is expected to play on one of the Flyers' top lines tonight and could see time on the power play, where he's scored eight goals for the Olympiques this season.

"He has the vision and awareness with the puck that you can't teach, and has a real passion to play hockey," Flyers coach John Stevens said. "We may even look at him with a guy like Danny Briere. Both of them think the game very well. He may play with a variety of people, but he will get the opportunity to play with some very good players."

Holmgren said Giroux's stay with the Flyers is expected to be brief because Downie was feeling better on Monday and could be back in the lineup as early as Thursday night when Jeremy Roenick and the San Jose Sharks visit the Wachovia Center.

If Downie is cleared to play on Thursday, Giroux will return to the Olympiques, who return to action Friday night at home against Drummondville.

"Things have been going good lately," said Giroux, who also has five shorthanded goals, eight game-winning goals and is a plus-31. "If the Flyers need me, I'll work as hard as I can."

Ironically, if Giroux plays for the Flyers tonight it will be his second time on the ice at Scotiabank Place this season. He was honored by the Senators on Jan. 13 in a pre-game ceremony recognizing Team Canada for its gold medal victory in the World Junior Championships.

Nice.. hopefully Downie is out for a couple of games :D Giroux will be a nice addition next season but we still need some stablity on D.... Vandermeer has been great and terrible at the same time in games, its just ridiculous.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have acquired 6’2”, 220-pound defenseman Jaroslav Modry (YAHR-roh-slav MOH-dree) from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a third round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren.

"Jaroslav (Modry) is a steady two-way defenseman that will bring us leadership and experience down the stretch," said Holmgren in announcing the trade.

Modry, 37, recorded a goal and five assists for six points and 42 penalty minutes in 61 games for the Kings this season. He is tied for second on the team in plus/minus at +2.

In 706 career NHL games over 13 seasons with the New Jersey Devils (1993-94 and 1994-95), the Ottawa Senators (1995-96), Los Angeles (1995-96 through 2003-04, 2006-07 to 2007-08), Atlanta Thrashers (2005-06) and Dallas Stars (2006-07), Modry has registered 49 goals and 198 assists for 247 points and 502 penalty minutes. He played parts of 10 seasons with the Kings, recording 35 goals and 129 assists for 164 points and 338 penalty minutes in 454 regular season games. He is ninth on the Kings All-Time List among defensemen in assists (129) and points (164). He set single-season career highs for assists and points when he registered 38 assists and 42 points for the Kings during the 2001-02 season and participated in the 2002 NHL All-Star Game. He was originally drafted by New Jersey in the ninth round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft.

Although we've lost 8 straight, I'd like to thank the Flyers for the Nintendo Wii and 46" Sony Bravia LCD TV I won on Sunday night. It made the pain of watching them lose to the Canadians fade away.

Yeah, I was quite excited. I'm afraid to see what the tax bill will be on it, but its still cheaper than buying the TV itself.

Tough loss last night. I liked that they battled the whole game but still need to but a W up at some point. The officiating was bad this game and the last few actually but when things aren't going your way that's what happens.

I like the trade last night, the team definitely needs more help on the blue line and hopefully this will help. Parent is looking better and better every night but he's still only 20. And I think Stevens needs to start resting Richards alittle more, I know he's basically the best all around player on the team but he's not a machine. Hopefully some better luck at home against the Sharks tomorrow night. I'll be down there but across the parking lot at the Foos show :D

I was there on fan Appreciation last year and won a Fall out Boy Cd. They called out my section then my row and my seat and i'm sitting there thinking i won somthin great and was extremely disapointed. BTW that CD made its way on the ice by the end of the game.
