I understand the need and want of some season ticket holders to sell tickets for games they can't make but they shouldn't be allowed to sell them for above face or at least no more than 10 to 20% above face value.

That's what's fucked up about all of this

Look, I'm not saying that the Pens are light years beyond the Flyers. I give them all the credit for making it this far. But the fact that this guy says that Philly has the advantage for forwards is a bit of a stretch. He only names Crosby and Malkin while mentioning like 7 of the Flyers forwards. Last I checked, the Pens had some guys named Hossa, Sykora, Malone, and Staal (among others) that have contributed to their success.

If he had Philly ahead in defense or goaltending it wouldn't have bothered me, but offense? C'mon...

I guess he looked at totals for each player and figured the forwards are a plus for us ?

    Briere,Prospal,Knuble,Carter,Richards,Lupul,Hartnell all over 20 goals

Upshall with 14 goals and the Pens Killer Umberger 13 goals

a little over 24 hours to go. i can't wait. let's go Flyers. i have been listenning to the radio here in Toronto and finally they are giving respect to the flyers. today was so funny as the couch of teh leafs was fired yesterday and today on teh readio they were saying that teh Leaf are not going to be a team liek the Flyers because they don't hav ethe talent and teh guts that Philly has to do what is needed.

so far this playoff, teh flyers have not lost a game when i wear my Flyers Jersey. i will be wearing in tomorrow.

I hate to admit it, but I actually lost a bet where I had to drink watermelon martinis with a lady friend of mine a few weeks ago (during the Caps series), and the Flyers won that night. Since then, every time I've been at my favorite watering hole while the Flyers play, I've had a watermelon martini or two, and they haven't lost yet.

Yeah, I'll be drinking them again tomorrow, so if you happen to see a man drinking watermelon martinis, don't judge, I'm just doing my civic duty to the city. :)

hahaha that's great.... no real superstition here, other than watch the game, have a few beers, and enjoy every damn minute. Although I will be wearing my Zubrus jersey to Game 3, after the outstanding Game 4 I got to see against the Caps.

Nice article from Bucci... doesn't pick the Flyers but doesn't discount them either...

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2008/columns/story?columnist=buccigross_john&id=3386690

BTW no one from ESPN or TSN is picking the Flyers this round... not even the monkey.

Bucci had us against the Caps, and Melrose against the Habs but don't think anyone from TSN picked us...

gotta love being the underdog... just wish I would have put some money on the Flyers before the season when my dad was in Vegas.

i put $100 on teh flyers to win teh cup at 100-1 odds in teh beginning of teh season. biggest party that Toronto will ever see if i win. gods knows teh Leafs will never give our city any reason to hav ea party in the future.

Relax... its a big loss but this team won't let it stop them. They've rallied all season around each other and they'll do it again. Team defense against the Pens will win this series and everyone has to chip in. Because of the injury, I don't expect to see Cote in the lineup unless Laraque really starts to take liberties with people. You can't have Hatcher or Smith getting in fights and not being on the ice for 5 minutes at a time.

I feel bad for Kimmo, having a great playoffs and then something freakish like happens. Thankfully they caught it early and before he got on the plane.

Sucks losing Timmonen, but hopefully we'll overcome it.

I bet a penguins fan $250 on the series. Come on Flyers, help finance my PJ tour.

You don't have to worry about laraque. He's a pacifist these days. All of a sudden he thinks he's wayne gretzky behind the net. Ruutu and Roberts will be doing the agitating.

    from philly.com blog...
You will note that Sam Donnellon is the only one selecting the Flyers. Sam and Ed Barkowitz are tied with the best record in our NHL selections with a 9-3 record. Sam is 6-0 in the East and has picked three of his nine winners in the correct number of games.

Could it bode well for the boys??? ;)

looks like Hatch and Coburn are the top D line with Jones and Smitty running 2nd... hopefully Jones and Smith can control Malkin because I'm pretty sure Hatch and Coburn will play mostly against Crosby. Although I wouldn't mind them against Malkin with the Jones pairing on the ice against Sid.

And Jones will get the first shot on the point for the PP...

I did hear earlier in the week that he was a huge Flyers fan. Hopefully the Flyers do something for the family or with the family during the series. that would be a nice gesture. maybe bring the kids out to drop the puck or something - i know it doesn't bring their father back but would be a nice touch of class to do.

The Flyers have invited the family to Game 3 of the series and will have a moment of silence for Sgt Liczbinski before the game.

They were saying on the radio this morning about moving Kappy back there

I doubt Stevens would do that at this point

I don't think that would happen early in games but I can see Stevens having Kappy out there later in games with a lead because he is defensively aware and has shown the ability to make the smart play in key situations.

Christ I've had too much free time on my hands today :) can't wait to get home and watch this game...

My In-Laws in Philly have a neighbor that gets season tickets from a guy and he has 4 tickets for May 13th Sec 124 Row 13

I hoping for 2 of those tickets !!
