Pretty soon it will cost $100 to fill up for the week. I figured it might cost $70 I had to give up another $20. At least the attendant saved me a penny by giving $5 in change back.

This is getting out of hand.

I live in Finland and here the prices today are something like this:

    1 liter (0,26 gal ) = 1,59 euro= 2,42 USD
    3,785 liter ( 1 gallon) = 6,02 euros= 9,15 USD

    yep... 9 usd /gallon.... SICK.

diesel is about 8,20 USD / gallon

Yes I know we're living the good life but this hits suddenly it's a shocking wake up call.

I live in the fricking USA, 6 months in Palm Beach FL, and 6 months in The Nation's Capital.

I found the lowest in town and that was $3.92 reg, The subway is MORE expensive however riding the 32 miles roundtrip to work is looking more enticing.

I don't think the outlook is to good. It'll all come crashing down though once prices get too high and the US crashes into a depression and then the world's economy goes in the tank (no pun intended).

I was going to the O's Red Sox game tonight but it's not worth driving up to Baltimore in the rain after dropping that much on gas. I rather stay home and hold to the gas I have cause who knows how much it'll be next week.

well I'd say if it's lasting you that long then it IS great on gas. but the $50 is just cause it has an average-size tank in a small car, and when you combine that with the price of gas, $50 is normal. but hey, it lasts you a long time. $50 every 3 weeks/month is PRETTY DAMN GOOD by today's standards.

Yeah, the only way to get it to stop on an even dollar is to, maybe, stop about a dime short and give it that quick little pump. Even then, you'll probably shoot right past.

Um, I'm pretty sure everyone the world over is kind of beholden to the fuel companies, it's just a sad fact of life. I try not to look at the meter when I'm filling my car up, it's too depressing - it's nearly £40 to fill it up, and I only drive a small car.

exactly you are like me we just follow along pay and keep on paying ,untill the people get together and really protest as a whole then only then will we get any results ,you know what it would take ? a shut down or a no drive day anything less will never be enough .... get use to this sound bahhhhhhhhh bahhhhhhh bahhhhhhh and just keep paying ....nothing against you personally just saying ....

  • why the fuck are we not in Alaska drilling for this shit?

because it's been projected that drilling there, and destroying one of the country's few pristine, untouched, lands, would drop prices by $0.01 per gallon

yeah, W, the failed oilman (how many people do you think have driven 3 oil businesses into the ground in Texas?) took over and gas was about $1.50 per gallon. With a majority in both houses, what did he do? Put the fox in charge of the henhouse is what he did, and now Exxon makes $40 billion in profit every 3 months, and the CEO retires with a $400 million retirement package.

BTW, I just saw diesel for $5.75, and about 2 miles away, it's $4.99
