Do you watch Dexter? I've heard it's great, but haven't had the chance to watch it yet. i know it'll be on CBS soon, but I don't want to watch it butchered up. I'd rather watch it the way it was meant to be seen
I have a feeling CBS is going to ruin a great show that has a ton of potential. I really don't see how they're going to preserve the show, and at the same time censor it for network tv. I know they're trying to reach a broader audience than Showtime, but they cant A&E Dexter like the Sopranos and expect it to be as good. Guess I'll find out tonight.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
because it's like the pearl jam of TV shows. very accessible, yet still pure genius, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and it alludes to all the best parts of great comedy that came before it. and it never gets old.
for me, it's Seinfeld. The dryness of it captures everything for me, and I laugh at all the smae jokes over and over again.
Secondly is easily South Park...they can make fun of anything and get away with it,a nd the way the incorporate it into all their characters lives and personalities is hilarious. Notably Mr/Ms. Garrison and Randy (Stan's Dad)

believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all!
Absolutely Arrested Development! Tobias is my fave... "I just blue myself" and Gangies best line ever, "I'd cry, but I can't spare the moisture.." But then Oscar was funny with thinking how to get marijuana into Lucille Bluth, and Michael was talking about Oscar and his mother having sex...
Oscar: I have to figure out how to get it into her...
Michael: There you go....
Oscar: Maybe I can put it in her brownie?
Michael: OK! I'm going to go now...
There was too much great about that show! It seems to have found a new life in re-runs on the CBC (???). Yeah, I know...something fantastic on the CBC...
One of my other fave shows was Monty Python's Flying Circus and the Dave Allen Show. LOOOOOOVED Dave Allen....
And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear
And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without

All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
i gotta say "curb your enthusiasm" or "arrested development" (cant wait for the movie version!)... a couple of the most sophisticated, subtle, sarcastic shows ever on tv with GREAT character development and fantastic stories that always come full circle
all the people saying "seinfeld", have you even seen "curb your enthusiasm"?!? its everything good about seinfeld but theres a sense of realism that pushes what seinfeld did to a whole other level of brilliance

And shows time and again that LD was the genius behind Seinfeld while JS was simply an overrated stand-up comic.

I have two: The West Wing and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
West Wing had a rather uninspired fifth season due to Sorkin's departure, but seasons six and seven was pure brilliance again. I don't think there's any other show that can go from absolute hilarity to tense drama in a quick second the way that West Wing does. This is the best all-round show in my opinion, because its funny, smart, and dramatic without becoming melodramatic.
Some people have already said it, but Curb shows that Seinfeld wasn't much without Larry David. LD is a genius, and Curb cracks me up every single time i watch it.
