    Mitch and Ricky Bo hit it on the head... that game should have been suspended before the start of the 6th when Cole had to stand out there for 10 minutes waiting for the field to be prepared... now the Rays get a clean slate and fresh field to start the bottom of the inning.... Gillick and the Phils should protest the game and have it reverted to the top the 6th and a 2-1 score... I know it won't go anywhere but it needs to be documented and done.

    I agree, but that will never happen. It's a shame because now the Phils don't have Hamels the rest of the series.

    And the highlights really show how bad the field was in the top of the 6th... ridiculous.... bad decisions and calls by umps is one thing but a total brain fart by the commissioner of baseball is inexcusable....

    I agree with everything you said. But you can't go Myers tomorrow. You have the better bullpen. They have a full day's rest. Use them. You need Myers just in case.

    I'd definitely use the bullpen, the Phillies have the advantage there. And when it took about 30 minutes for the first delay, that should have been their first clue that there might be a problem.

    i am so mad. mitch really got me fired up last night. it's true, it just wasn't fair. the conditions were bad for a long time...and they waited for tampa to tie it up before calling it?! in the MIDDLE of an inning? it is complete BS.

    revert back, but then can you imagine if the rays come out and score three runs instead of the one? there's just no excuse for the fact it should have been stopped before the sixth even started.

    I was just throwing out the Myers thing... I trust our bullpen and think it can be the strength it is supposed to be. I think you start Durbin or Eyre and then setup the normal 8-9 guys as needed.

    And I love all the talk of Price being available... did I miss something or didn't he give up a HR and 2 base hits to the Phils the only time we faced him??? And he's supposed to be the incredible young pitcher who is unhittable...

    you all have waited 28 years for another championship...2 more days. from a non-phillies fan's perspective, I agree w/ you all about the delay when Hamels was waiting, but halting the game 2-2 was the right thing to do...Selig got lucky with that 2nd Rays run coming in and it made it an easier call to make.

    my problem with that is if you are going to "play the entire game no matter how long you have to wait for the rain to stop" then why not stop it earlier before the infield becomes a swamp. It was getting that way by the end of the 3rd and didn't improve from there.. it just smells of Selig changing the rules midstream.... And I don't understand how the call is easier... the Rays now get to pitch on a nice clean mound with no rain, compared to Hamels who couldn't throw a curve or changeup because of the wet, cold, rainy conditions... sounds fair to me....

    The only reason it was 2 to 2 is because he "didn't" hault the game. If the Phillies lose, he's going to pay.

    He should have haulted the game before it started. The whole thing is tainted now. This type of B.S. is not acceptable. He did have to postpone the game... but he should have beforehand. The weather was not a surprise. He should not be commissioner.

    This is the biggest lump of bullshit I have ever seen and heard. I was at the game last night and I really don't know why they didn't call it after the 5th when they took about 15-20 minutes to throw more dirt down - like that's gonna do anything. And I'm not crying just because I'm a homer, but you know the fucking conditions and the commisioner let's the home team trot out and pitch just so there can be a tie. Absolute bullshit. Postpone the game after the 5th, not the middle of the 6th!
