That was a very close play and Napoli had the plate blocked.
Manny usually slides in with his feet, the chances of him getting called out would have been higher than Bay.
Lester and the Boston fielding defense pretty much won this game.
Kotsay, Youk, Varitek made great defensive plays.
The Rays are going to be a mighty tough team to beat that's for sure. Plus we lost Lowell so that's not gonna help matters either.
I hope we don't have a melt down like we did tonight in that series because it could cost us the chance to get back to the World Series

Really not scoreless though, he gave up an unearned run in game 1.
Plus he gave up 2 ER against Cleveland last year in relief.
But clearly Lester is the ace of this staff currently, phenomenal job in this series.
Looks like I fell victim to TBS's post game show giving out errant info last night. Usually I doublecheck stats like that. Blame it on jet lag I guess.

The ball popping out upon impact of the ground after the tag was made is in the same vein of a 2nd baseman or SS dropping the ball at second after recording a force out while transferring the ball from the glove to try and complete a double play.
