Btw, great move by Francona taking Beckett out after 80 pitches. Now he should be able to go if needed on 3 days rest for Game 4.

Sabithia looks done. He's well over his max innings pitched and the Sox were hitting rockets off him in the first. It also looks like Manny is in his head. He had 37 walks in 241 innings in the regular season and 11 now in 2 post season starts. The big man is running on fumes at the wrong time.

It was a nice win tonight for the Sox.

Tomorrow's game should be great. Can't wait.

Didn't Joe Buck mentioned that the Sox are putting Wakefield in for game 4 with the game 1 airing?

He did, but with Beckett not working too hard tonight, Francona now has the option of pitching Wakes or Beckett in Game 4 depending on how the series goes the next two games.

That's good because Game 2/3 starts are a bit iffy.

I hope we get the great post-season version of Big Schill for Game 2, but you'll never know because of his so-so regular season this year.

Dice-K has a above average start but got pretty bad in Aug./Sept.

By The Way, Did anyone see that guy interviewing Stephen King?
I think the interviewer's name is Chris Meyers.

anyways, he asked King the dumbest question a reporter can ask.
I don't have or remember the exact question but he said something like like:
"Now what book do you have in your hand"?

...and before King could answer, ask Meyers said
"Is it one of yours"? King replied, "Why would I, I already know the ending"

I think before Meyers moved on to a baseball question,
he quickly said something like: "Don't try to be smart"

    LMAO...stupid fucking reporter.

i'll be the first to admit that tbs' coverage of the sox/angels series for the alds was not the best ever - and i still have next to no idea where they dug the broadcasters out of, but i was sick of buck and mccarver and fox and all their stupid little sound effects after about a half inning.

with tbs it was nice to be able to watch a red sox postseason game and just be able to watch the game with basic play-by-play and color commentary rather than stupid little graphics and montages and buck and mccarver wouldn't shut the hell up.

i liked steven king's little dig though that he could read more in between innings because fox has to show more commercials.

they took so much away from the the WS win in 04
    they dont like Boston

They could care less and get everyones name wrong
they kept calling Manny and Ortiz by the wrong name

    very biased and very unprofessional

Manny gets his third bases loaded walk of the series and it's tied up.

Carmona is already up to 66 pitches and it's not even through 3 innings yet.

  • can anyone please explain why tim mcgarver is still the "color" announcer for fox? He is horrible. With all the great baseball minds out there, its amazing that fox still uses this guy. he's the pat summeral of baseball.
