His best at bat as a Red Sox by far.

  • not only was that a comeback for the ages for the sox but Drew's hit also happened at 12:16 AM on October 17, which is exactly five years that Aaron Boone homered off Wakefield at Yankee Stadium, triggering the chain of events in Red Sox history that have led the franchise to this point.

Whats got the whole world faking?
  • This makes me feel so good:

All those sox fans on the east coast who turned off the game at 7-0 to go to bed because it was like 11:30 or something. I can just imagine them tomorrow morning checking the final score online and to their astonishment seeing the red sox win. It gives me great pleasure knowing that 1,000+ ppl tomorrow are going to start their day off great!

I watched it all the way through in both frustration and joy, and I'm in Massachusetts.

I'm pretty sure the rest of the Eastcoast fans did the same. It's not over 'til the there's 27-outs or more if there are extras.

At the end of the night joy won over the frustration. All worth it. :D

that's what prompted me to write my last post. My dad (on the east coast) probably went to bed around the top of the 7th. I would love to see his expression when he checks the box score tomorrow....:)

I just woke up and saw the news from last nite.

    WOW!!!

    me too!

This is ridiculous! I was so pissed in the 5th inning. I decided I got sick of seeing the Rays tee off on the sox so i went to bed. I didn't expect to see them come out on top when i woke up this morning. Maybe I should do that more often because they always seem to win when I count them out. At least we have a game on Saturday to watch now!!!

    Fenway going nuts!

    What a game.
    What a comeback.

    We're going to Tampa :)
  • Well, I haven't strapped on my bib just yet, but at least there is still hope I will have to eat my words from yesterday. What a great win that was....if for no other reason than we won't have to watch the Fenway faithful with their long faces when/if the Rays clinch.

I didn't get home until 7:30 (central), turned the game on and it was 5-0 and having had an awful day and not feeling so well to boot I went to bed shortly after 8. Woke up a little after 5 this morning just long enough to flip the tv on to Mike and Mike (the greatest show ever) and I heard it and thought I was dreaming. I was relieved when I finally woke up for good!

I still think it is highly unlikely they can win two games in Tampa, but I've said the same thing before so who knows. It's a damn shame the bats weren't poppin' like that a couple of games ago, but hopefully they are ready to churn out a shit load of runs...Beckett and Lester better bring their fuckin' A games!

Meanwhile, I will go and rinse last night's gravy off my bib just in case.
    GO SOX!
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

So, since I did not watch (about five seconds) last night, does that mean I shouldn't watch this weekend?

Yup...any fair weather fan who gave up should watch reruns of Designing Women instead of watching games 6 and 7.

Aw, come on now, I was feeling bad and watching them getting the crap beat out of them might have made me suicidal! I just didn't think I could stomach it last night.

But, if I can't watch, can I substitute Golden Girls instead of Designing Women? Blanche gets me all hot and bothered to this day!
