defense did a nice job of keeping washington out of the end zone and limiting them to a field goal...then mcnabb to westbrook for the huge go ahead td!
just watching the sunday night game. certainly no surprise that the chargers are beating the colts. a bit of a surprise, however, that they are already up 23-0 mid-way through the second.
...but wow! am i impressed with cromartie over the last few weeks! his one handed interception tonight was one of the best i've ever seen! one of three so far...:)

i dont care about that nonsense. the celtics and bruins could win the championships this year too...doesnt change the fact that you're a jerk off! congrats.
i still like mcnabb and do feel like he takes more heat than he should. wasn't his fault we lost the green bay game on fumbles or our defense couldn't stop a 90 yard drive in under a minute against chicago....but found this article interesting....
Game Views: McNabb should be counting his lucky star
sportsblog by angelo cataldi
NOV 13
Donovan McNabb is a very lucky man this week. He’s lucky that Brian Westbrook is his teammate. He’s lucky that the Eagles defense saved the game in the fourth quarter Sunday, and maybe his job. And he’s lucky that Joe Gibbs appears to have forgotten how to coach.
The stat sheet says that McNabb had one of the better games of his excellent career — 20 for 28 passing, 251 yards and four touchdowns — in the 33-25 victory over Washington. But we know better. The truth is, just a few days after proving that he’s a lousy leader, McNabb nearly cost the Eagles their last real chance to save the season.
Down 22-20 with just over eight minutes left, McNabb fumbled the ball at his own 24-yard line and gave the Redskins a golden opportunity to clinch the victory. It was the second time in two weeks that McNabb handed the ball right back on the first play after a turnover.
But, this time, he caught a break. Aided by some totally ridiculous play-calling by Gibbs and his staff, the Eagles defense stopped Washington six times inside the 7-yard line, and then Westbrook slithered down the field after a screen pass for the decisive 57-yard touchdown. Afterwards, the accolades poured in for ... McNabb?
Yes, McNabb. Daryl “Moose” Johnston started the process during the Fox broadcast with a mindless tribute to the quarterback’s resiliency. Then the postgame shows bought into the theme with more of this dubious logic. And, finally, the morning papers (not this one, thankfully) finished the job with yet another round of absurdity.
Donovan McNabb did not win Sunday’s game. In fact, he was just plain lucky he didn’t lose it. His first touchdown drive was saved by three dumb Redskin penalties. His second TD pass to Reggie Brown, if cooked properly, would have made a nice duck l’orange. And then there was that fumble.
Just a few days earlier, after a McNabb turnover had highlighted an Eagles loss to Dallas, McNabb tried to deflect some of the blame for this bad season onto his teammates.
“I’m definitely not the whole reason why we lost these games,” he said. “Can I help? Yes, I can. But I’m not fully to blame for everything that goes on around here. ... I’m a piece of the puzzle.”
So basically, McNabb dug himself a hole with those words, then dug it a little deeper with his fumble, then got praise heaped upon him when the defense and Westbrook saved the game.
“That was a gutty performance,” coach Andy Reid said. “My hat’s off to [McNabb] for persevering through some of the things that have gone on.”
Wait a minute. It was McNabb who threw his own teammates under the bus last week. It was McNabb who whined publicly (again) about how demanding it is to be the Eagles quarterback. It was McNabb who started the controversy — not the media, not his teammates, not his opponents.
Is it really heroic to overcome adversity if you actually created the adversity yourself? What would have happened if the Redskins had scored on the possession after McNabb’s fumble? Wouldn’t everyone be speculating about his status as the starting quarterback? Wouldn’t Kevin Kolb already be warming up on the sideline?
Perhaps the most poignant moment in Sunday’s win came near the end, when McNabb and Reid embraced on the sideline — two troubled Eagles sharing a rare moment of relief in a challenging season. What did Reid whisper to McNabb during that prolonged hug?
My best guess is: “Man, we’re lucky Brian Westbrook is here.”
Thanks for that read. Angelo did make one glaring mistake in the opening of his column - there is no way McNabb's job was on the line against the Redskins. There is no way they are playing Kolb this year and it's pointless to play Feeley unless McNabb gets hurt.
I also agree D Mac takes a lot more heat than he deserves, but he also gets a lot of credit sometimes when he doesn't really deserve it.
“Man, we’re lucky Brian Westbrook is here.” That is the probably the most telling quote in the article. He's by far the Eagles best weapon and what teams gameplan against the most. The Eagles would be totally unwatachable right now without him.

he's the reason i'm an eagles fan. honestly, i had little interest in football despite being subjected to childhood sundays revolving around game times. but once this little weapon out of a non-football school in the philly 'burbs started capturing my attention...well, it was all over.
i just feel bad for donovan. he takes so much heat, but really...what do eagles fans want? kolb? i don't think so. on one hand i'd like to see him get the recognition he deserves somewhere like chicago...on the other i don't want to see the eagles stink even worse when we have a below average qb starting.

I wonder what school that Westbrook kid went to. It must not be too well known nationally.
I agree with you about McNabb. Kolb is not going to be the second coming of Tom Brady so we have to stick with him. He may not be the best and he may still be hurt, but he does give the Eagles their best shot at winning games. Though I do think he will be a salary cap casualty next year. I think his cap number is 11 million so unless he has a great stretch run, it could be rebuilding time next year here.
But in all seriousness, it's kinda cool how Westbrook got you into football. Did you watch any of his college games?

nah, i was too obsessed with college basketball. i made it to one football game in my four years there. i've actually gone to more since i graduated, but at the time i was really only into our basketball team. i know OF westbrook, though brian finneran seemed like a bigger deal at the time.
