Yeah do tell, I am very curious as to the type of merch available at the race.

I usually dont go for that stuff, maybe a commemorative poster.

Whats the deal and what kind of cash are we talking.

I can't stand the Canadiens, but good luck your talent won out and it was a good series.

I'm judging by 3rd party prices ($100+ t-shirts, etc). The real shops are going to be a lot higher than that, I expect.
I could be wrong, and hope so, cause I want to gear up in Ferrari duds, hehe.'
    Check out this: http://www.grandprixproducts.com/#
I expect to add a little bit in cost to the same types of products at the race. There are also 3 F1-merch stores on St. Catherine's St West (all within view of each other, no less).

Sergei Kostitsyn was a real olympic diver throughout the series.
There were a few other red shirts, and a few in the black and gold too, but he was the most prominent.
At the same time he wasn't afraid to go in the corners like some of our defensemen..

Damn. Looks like I will need a second budget for race merch.
Thanks for the tip, I am sure I will be spending time near St. Catherines.

This is probably going to be the most expensive weekend ever!

It is definitely going to be hard on the wallet.
I've got everything paid for cept the hotel so far though, so I'll be able to grab a few goodies while I'm there.

Same here. And Im doing an apartment rental for the weekend, so that wont be too expensive.

Something tells me I will blow cash on merch, food, drink, and chez paris (if its still there).

My buddy keeps telling me I have to go to Super Sex.

We got a few rooms at a hotel a few blocks away from the track, on the same side of the river.

Apparently, those are the two biggies.
I went to school in Syracuse NY and we used to go up to Montreal every semester. Stayed at a fraternity house at McGill and hit the bars.

Always Chez Paris. Many many many fond memories of that place.

Man I am psyched for that weekend-and hope we can grab a brew somewhere along the line. Be nice if PJ was also playing in montreal that weekend!!!!

    Riots In Montreal

    Riot follows Game 7 win

MONTREAL -- Police needed tear gas last night to offset rioting fans as celebrations marking the Montreal Canadiens' first-round victory over the Boston Bruins turned ugly.

Bands of helmet-wearing riot police patrolled the neighbourhoods surrounding the Bell Centre after yahoos damaged cop cars and broke windows in the downtown core. One police car was set on fire on the famous bar strip of Crescent St., just a couple of blocks from the Bell Centre.

"I'm very sad because this is not a reflection of the fans, the city or the Canadiens," said Bill Hurley, owner of Hurleys Pub, after watching a police vehicle set ablaze in front of his establishment. "Its just a few stupid people ruining everything."

Of concern to local authorities and city officials alike will be the fact that such rioting occurred after just one round. What happens if the Canadiens win the next round?

For the most part, the fans were well behaved inside the Bell Centre during the game, creating one of the loudest atmospheres many have experienced in a long time. But those who chanted "Go Habs Go" during the U.S. anthem should have shown a little more respect toward the Star Spangled Banner.

Any hopes that Patrice Bergeron had of playing in Game 7 were dashed when he did not get the green light from the doctors to suit up. The young Bruins forward, who has been out of action since October with post-concussion syndrome, had been skating with his teammates for a couple of weeks.

While the Bruins ended up losing Game 7 5-0, coach Claude Julien refused to pick out any scapegoat.

Asked if his team understandably had run out of gas after having its back to the wall for a third consecutive game, the Boston Bruins coach simply sneered.

"To me, that would be a cowardly excuse," Julien said.
